Well-watered pastoral lands, covered with mixed bush. Situated about twenty-two miles by road from Kawhia. Sections 2, 3, and 4, Block VII., are broken and undulating; soil good. Sections 4 and 5, Block VIII., are very broken and undulating; soil fair.

The altitude of these lands ranges from 900 ft. to 1,800 ft.; they are situated fourteen to eighteen miles from Otorohanga. Sections 1 and 2 consist of broken forest country of sandstone formation, with soil fair to good; well watered. Section No. 3 is very broken forest land, with fair soil; well watered. Six hundred acres of Section No. 4 is very broken, balance fairly good; the soil is fair to good, with sandstone formation. Sections Nos. 5, 7, and 8 comprise broken pastoral lands covered with mixed forest; rich soil; well watered.

These sections are situated eleven to thirteen miles from Otorohanga; the altitude ranges from 500 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Section No. 1 is all heavy forest, with broken pastoral land, except a small portion along Oamaru Stream; the formation is sandstone, and the soil is of fair quality; the section is well watered. Section No. 2 is mostly heavy forest; about 40 acres on Moakurua River is flat in fair grass, about 100 acres is covered with fern and manuka scrub; the section is well watered and the soil is good, with sandstone formation. Sections Nos. 3 and 4 are broken forest lands; well watered; the formation is sandstone, and the soil fair to good. Section No. 5 is mostly covered with forest, the balance is fern and manuka scrub; the soil is fair to good, resting on a papa-and-sandstone formation; the land is well watered. Section No. 6 is all forest, except about 20 acres of fern; the section is well watered, with good soil on sandstone formation. Section No. 7 has about 30 acres of fern and manuka, balance forest; the soil is fairly good, resting on limestone formation.

About half of the section is covered with heavy forest, balance fern and manuka scrub; sandstone formation; fairly good soil; well watered; altitude about 700 ft. Situated twelve miles from Otorohanga.

All broken country, covered with heavy forest, consisting principally of tawa, rata, and rimu; well watered. Sections Nos. 1 and 5, about 1,500 ft. above sea-level; rich soil; situated thirteen miles from Otorohanga. Section No. 2 contains a small patch of about 3 acres of grass; soil very good; distant nine miles from Hangitiki Railway-station. Section No. 3 consists of good pastoral land; distant fifteen miles from Hangitiki Railway-station. Section No. 4 is pastoral land, very broken in parts; situated seventeen miles from Hangitiki Railway-station.

Section No. 1, good soil in valley, inferior towards top of range. Section No. 3, good light soil; small grass flats on river-bank. Section No. 4, good pastoral land.

Section No. 2, 50 acres fern and grass; situated nine miles and a half from Hangitiki Railway-station. Section No. 1, Block XIV., undulating land, containing a patch of fern; limestone formation; good soil; well watered.
