| The altitude of these lands ranges from 900 ft. to 1,800 ft.; they are situated fourteen to eighteen miles from Otorohanga. Sections 1 and 2 consist of broken forest country of sandstone formation, with soil fair to good; well watered. Section No. 3 is very broken forest land, with fair soil; well watered. Six hundred acres of Section No. 4 is very broken, balance fairly good; the soil is fair to good, with sandstone formation. Sections Nos. 5, 7, and 8 comprise broken pastoral lands covered with mixed forest; rich soil; well watered. | |||||||

| These sections are situated eleven to thirteen miles from Otorohanga; the altitude ranges from 500 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Section No.1 is all heavy forest, with broken pastoral land, except a small portion along Oamaru Stream; the formation is sandstone, and the soil is of fair quality; the section is well watered. Section No. 2 is mostly heavy forest; about 40 acres on Moakurua River is flat in fair grass, about 100 acres is covered with fern and manuka scrub; the section is well watered and the soil is good, with sandstone formation. Sections Nos. 3 and 4 are broken forest lands; well watered; the formation is sandstone, and the soil fair to good. Section No. 5 is mostly covered with forest, the balance is fern and manuka scrub; the soil is fair to good, resting on a papa-and-sandstone formation; the land is well watered. Section No. 6 is all forest, except about 20 acres of fern; the section is well watered, with good soil on sandstone formation. Section No. 7 has about 30 acres of fern and manuka, balance forest; the soil is fairly good, resting on limestone formation. | |||||||
