Extending Time of Commission to inquire and report generally in respect to the Constituting and Setting-apart of Watercourses in the Land Districts of Otago and Southland as Watercourses for the Discharge of Tailings and Waste Water produced by Mining Operations.

To all to whom these presents shall come, and to John Hayes, of Wellington, Esquire, Inspecting Engineer to the Mines Department; James Pillans Maitland, of Dunedin, Esquire, Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Land District of Otago; David Barron, of Invercargill, Esquire, Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Land District of Southland; Thomas Young Duncan, of Pukeuri, Esquire, Member of the House of Representatives; and Henry Andrew Gordon, of Auckland, Esquire, Mining Engineer: Greeting.

WHEREAS by a Commission bearing date the ninth day of April last you, the said

JAMES PILLANS MAITLAND,
DAVID BARRON,
THOMAS YOUNG DUNCAN, and
HENRY ANDREW GORDON,

were appointed to be a Commission for the purposes and with the powers in the said Commission more particularly mentioned: And whereas by the said Commission you were directed and required to report to me, on or before the thirtieth day of June then next ensuing, your proceedings and your opinion touching the matters mentioned therein: And whereas it is expedient that the said period should be extended as hereinafter provided:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice of the Executive Council thereof, and in exercise of every power and authority enabling me in that behalf, do hereby extend the period within which you shall (using all diligence) report to me, as by the said Commission provided, to the thirty-first day of December next ensuing; and with the like advice and consent, and in further pursuance and exercise of the said power and authority, I do hereby confirm the said Commission except as altered by these presents.

In witness whereof I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said Colony, have hereunto set my hand and have caused these presents to be issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Wellington, in the said colony, this fifteenth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred.

Appointment of a Board under “The Kaitangata Relief Fund Transfer Act, 1892.”

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the second section of “The Kaitangata Relief Fund Transfer Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby nominate and appoint

Hon. DAVID PINKERTON, M.L.C.,
ARTHUR MORRISON, Esq., M.H.R., and
WILLIAM HUTCHISON, Esq.,

to be members of the Board for the purposes of “The Kaitangata Relief Fund Transfer Act, 1892.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred.

Officer under “The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884,” Hawke’s Bay District, appointed.

have been appointed Officers for the purpose of that Act for the Wellington Acclimatisation District, as defined by notification under “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” published in the New Zealand Gazette of 22nd June, 1899.

GEORGE T. ROBERTSON, of Courtenay,

has been appointed an Officer for the purposes of that Act for that part of the Provincial District of Canterbury to the north of and including the Rakaia River, and for the waters of the Clarence River which are within the County of Marlborough.
