affects the areas in which the land in the Clifton Village Settlement shall be held, and doth declare that on and after the date hereof any settler may apply for and acquire land therein of an area not exceeding five acres in extent in the whole; and it is hereby further declared that all the provisions of the Order in Council of the twenty-third day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, aforesaid, shall apply, except as regards the area in which the sections may be held, to the Clifton Village Settlement aforesaid.

Extending Time for Preparation of Burgess Roll, Borough of City of Auckland.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of June, 1900.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that certain things required to be done by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” and “The Municipal Franchise Reform Act, 1898,” in connection with the making and revision of the burgess lists or rolls of the Borough of City of Auckland cannot be done by or within the time required by the said Acts:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” and its amendments, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the times for the doing of the several acts and things set forth in the Schedule hereto, and required to be done in connection with the burgess lists or rolls of the said Borough of City of Auckland, and doth hereby declare that the times for the doing of such several acts and things shall be those which are specified in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.

Burgess list to be made out on or before the 16th June, 1900.

Burgess and defaulters’ lists open for inspection, and delivery of objections thereto, until the 23rd June, 1900.

Inspection of lists of objections, from the 25th June, 1900, to the 30th June, 1900.

Sitting of Council to determine claims and objections, between 2nd July and 4th July, 1900.

Burgess roll to come into force on the 12th July, 1900.

Powers delegated to the Spreydon and Halswell Domain Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of June, 1900.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the sixth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth hereby, with the like advice and consent, and in respect of the land hereinafter mentioned, delegate all the powers conferred by the said Act, except the powers conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, for the period of ten years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Spreydon and Halswell Domain Board, namely,—
JOHN FERGUSON,
SAMUEL GARFORTH,
JOHN MILN,
CHARLES LEWIS, and
JOSEPH BARNARD FLEETE
(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the fourth Wednesday in each month, at half-past twelve o’clock p.m., at the office of the Canterbury Sale-yards Company, Addington, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the twenty-fifth day of July, one thousand nine hundred.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the fourth Wednesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

The Board shall prepare and submit at each annual meeting a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of December, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
And with the like advice and consent as aforesaid doth hereby also order that this delegation shall take effect in respect of the parcel of Crown lands described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 20 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 110, Christchurch Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by the Lower Lincoln Road; towards the north-east by Section No. 379; and towards the south by Section No. 1072 and Reserve No. 128.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty of “The Counties Act, 1886” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that all the powers of a County Council relating to the alteration of the boundaries of any road or town districts within a county, or of amalgamating such districts, or of merging any of them into the county, and all other powers in relation to such districts exercisable by the Council by special order or on petition, may be exercised by the Governor in Council in respect of any of the counties in which the said Act is suspended: And whereas the said Act is suspended in the County of Eden: And whereas, in pursuance of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor, signed by two-thirds of the ratepayers in the Remuera Road District, in the said County of Eden, praying him to constitute a new road district:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that such portion of the said Remuera Road District, in the County of Eden, as is comprised within the boundaries described in the First Schedule hereto shall constitute a new road district, to be called the Orakei Road District; and that the number of the members of the Board of the said road district shall be four.
