Defining the Middle Line of a Further Portion of the Otago Central Railway (Part of Eweburn-Wedderburn Section).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Otago Central Railway (hereinafter termed “the said railway”) is a railway the construction of which is authorised by “The Public Works Act, 1879”: And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at a point in the railway reserve on the eastern side of the road forming the western boundary of township reserve in Block VI., Maniototo Survey District, the said point being distant about 44 chains from the south-western corner of said township reserve, and being also the terminal point of a portion of the Otago Central Railway as described in a Proclamation dated the 21st day of May, 1897, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 48, of 27th May, 1897; proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction for a distance of about 8 miles 35½ chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., railway reserve in Blocks VI., II., V., and I., Maniototo Survey District, and railway reserve in Block VII., Naseby Survey District—and terminating in the said railway reserve at a point on the eastern boundary of Pre-emptive Right A, No. 23, in the said Block VII., Naseby Survey District, distant about 100 links from the north-eastern corner thereof: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Otago: as the same is shown by a red line on the plan marked P.W.D. 17855, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this tenth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the North Island Main Trunk Railway, from a point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumaranui, and the Ongaruhe River Valley (hereinafter termed “the said railway”), is a railway the construction of which is authorised by “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1884,” which Act is, in the eighth section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorising the construction of such railway: And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section eight of “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1884,” and by section one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at a point in the Rangitoto-Tuhua Native Block No. 6039, Block III., Tangitu Survey District, distant about 6 chains in a westerly direction from the Ongaruhe River, and distant about 43 chains in a south-westerly direction from the junction of the Ohinemoa Stream with the Ongaruhe River, which point is also the termination of a portion of the line of railway as described in a Proclamation dated the 23rd November, 1897, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 100, of the 2nd December, 1897; proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction for a distance of about 13 miles 40 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., Native lands in the Rangitoto-Tuhua Native Block No. 6039, situated in Blocks III., VII., XI., X., and XIII., Tangitu Survey District, and Block II., Rangi Survey District—and terminating at a point in the said Block II., Rangi Survey District, marked 67 miles on a railway survey-peg distant about 10 chains in an easterly direction from the Ongaruhe River, and distant about 15 chains in a southerly direction from the junction of the Ouweponga Stream with the Ongaruhe River: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Taranaki: in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 18696, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Helensville Northwards Railway, Komokoriki Section.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS an extension of the Helensville Northwards Railway to the Kaipara Flats is a railway specified in the Schedule to “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1899,” and which Act is, in the fourth section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorising the construction of such extension; and such extension is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section four of “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1899,” and by sections one hundred and sixty-six and one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at a point in railway reserve in Section No. 185, Parish of Makarau, distant about 4 chains in an easterly direction from the prolongation for about 22 chains in a northerly direction of the line forming the easternmost boundary of Section 175 in aforesaid parish, which point is also the termination of the Tahekeroa Section of the Helensville Northwards Railway, as described in a Proclamation dated the 27th October, 1898, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 79, of the 3rd November, 1898; proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction for a distance of about 6 miles 23 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—namely, railway reserve between Sections 185, 50, 188, and 134; Section 48; western portion of Section 47 and south-western portion of Section 46, Puhoi Parish, Block I., Waiwera Survey District, and Block XIII., Mahurangi Survey District; eastern portion of Section 23, north-eastern portion of Section 27, Section 32, southern portion of Section 33, western portion of Section 30, and railway reserve, Ahuroa Parish, Block XIII., Mahurangi Survey District; and railway reserve in Ahuroa Parish, Block IX., Mahurangi Survey District—and terminating at
