"THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1894."

NOTICE is hereby given that the Coromandel County Council intends to take all that parcel of land situate in the Survey District of Coromandel, Block VI., being portion of Karaka No. 1 Block, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 3 roods 18 perches, and coloured pink on Plan No.11742, for the purpose of a road, and that a plan of such land, duly certified, is open for inspection at the County Office, Coromandel, during reasonable hours.

All persons affected must set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such land, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the said Council.

MANUKAU WATER-SUPPLY DISTRICT.

RESULT OF POLL FOR SPECIAL LOAN.

I, WILLIAM STEPHEN COCHRANE, Chairman of the Manukau Water-Supply Board, hereby give notice that the result of the Poll of the Ratepayers of the Manukau Water-Supply District upon the proposal to raise a Special Loan of £20,000 for the purpose of supplying both the Manukau Water-Supply District and the outlying district with water, which was held on the 16th day of May, 1900, was as follows:—

Number of votes recorded, 214; informal, 1: total number of valid votes recorded, 213. Number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 208; number of valid votes recorded against the proposal, 5.

As the number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal exceeds three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I declare the proposal to be carried.

WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNTY COUNCIL.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned special order has been duly adopted, viz.:—

“That, in pursuance of the provisions of ‘The Water-supply Act Amendment Act, 1898,’ and of a requisition signed by a majority of the ratepayers supplied by the Moroa Water-race, this Council do now appoint Messrs. Thomas Kempton, Alfred Macey Wilkinson, Coleman Phillips, James Williams, Thomas Benton the younger, James Thompson, and William John Nix, the Managing Ratepayers of the Moroa Water-race, to have and exercise all the powers of management now possessed by this Council in regard to such water-race, from and after the 5th day of March, 1900.”

I certify that the foregoing special order has been duly passed by the Wairarapa South County Council at a special meeting held the 12th day of February, 1900, and confirmed at a meeting of the Council held the 5th day of March, 1900.

ROBERT RAINEY, of Tai Tapu, being the only person duly nominated to fill the casual vacancy on the said Board of Governors of the Canterbury Agricultural College by such members of the Legislative Council as for the time being are resident within the Provincial District of Canterbury, and by such of the members of the House of Representatives as for the time being represent electoral districts within that Provincial District:

I hereby declare the said Robert Rainey to be duly elected to fill the said vacancy by the said electors.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore carried on by FREDERICK BURGESS and ALFRED PILCHER, under the style of “Pilcher and Co.,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 31st day of December, 1899.

The business will in future be carried on by the said Frederick Burgess, to whom all debts due to the late firm are to be paid, and by whom all the liabilities of the late firm will be discharged.

The business will in future be carried on, under the style of “The Boston Sugar-boilers,” by the undersigned Ernest Lyton Bradly, by whom all the liabilities of the old firm will be discharged.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the New Zealand Express Company (Limited), duly convened, and held at Dunedin on the 23rd day of April last, the following special resolution was duly passed, and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the members of the said company, also duly convened, and held at the same place on the 10th day of May instant, the following resolution was duly confirmed: viz., “That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Charles Spencer Owen be appointed Liquidator.”
