- BOROUGH OF WOOLSTON.
"THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1894."
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Woolston intend to take, under the said Act, all that parcel of land in the said borough, being part of R.S. 464, belonging to the “Dixon Estate,” adjoining the Canal Reserve, containing 1 rood 5½ perches, more or less, for the purposes of a street in continuation of Tilford Street to the Canal Reserve Road.
A plan showing the land proposed to be taken may be inspected at the Woolston Borough Council Chambers, in the said borough.
All persons having any objections to the road, or the taking of the said land, must set forth in writing such objections, and send the same to the said Council, at their Chambers, before Saturday, the 17th day of February, 1900.

I, RICHARD BARNARD, of Christchurch, Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England 1890, Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians of London 1890, Bachelor of Surgery of the University of Cambridge 1899, registered on Imperial Register, hereby give notice that I have, this 9th day of January, 1900, deposited my diplomas and evidence of my qualifications with the Registrar of the Christchurch District, and that I shall apply to be registered under the New Zealand Medical Act on the 9th day of February, 1900.

IN the matter of “The Foreign Companies Act, 1884”; and in the matter of Melville’s New Zealand Corporation (Limited).—Notice is hereby given that the above-named company, incorporated in England under the provisions of the Companies Acts, 1862 to 1893, intends to cease to carry on business in the Colony of New Zealand at the expiration of three months from the 31st day of December, 1899.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of 30s. per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than three months cannot be subscribed for.
Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.
Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertion.
Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged 23s.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening in each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before three o’clock of the day preceding publication.
Communications should be addressed to the Government Printer, Wellington, to whom post-office money-orders should be made payable. Cheques should be crossed “Public a/c,” and exchange added.
Postage- or duty-stamps cannot be received in payment from any place at which postal notes or post-office orders are issued.
Prepayment may be demanded in any case. In order to prevent delay in publication a sufficient remittance should accompany every advertisement. Any surplus will be returned with receipted account.
