Notifying Land in Marlborough for Sale by Public Auction.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred, as the time at which the land enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.

Gore Survey District, on Titirangi Run.

SECTIONS 1, Block XXIV., and 5, Block XIII.: Area, 56 acres; upset price, £22 8s.

Notifying Lands in Wellington for Sale by Public Auction.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the twenty-seventh day of February, one thousand nine hundred, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto opposite the description of such lands respectively.

These sections are situated on the Marton–Tokaanu Main Road, close to the Township of Mangaweka, and comprise flat land, the soil being of good quality, on old river shingle, resting on papa formation. The forest is all felled. Section 21B is watered by a well. The elevation is about 1,050 ft. above sea-level. The improvements on Section 21B comprise a four-roomed house, 30 ft. by 21½ ft., with iron roof, valued at £60; and well, £2.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-seventh day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine.

Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Section 2, on Mangorewa River, comprises light bush and light soil; portion level; takes grass well. Section 3, same description, but land rather broken. Section 4, light bush, light soil; undulating land; will take grass well. Section 5, same description as Section 4. Section 6, mostly open fern and clover land; portion light bush and undulating land, with springs in several places. Section 7, light bush land, very broken. Section 8, fern and light bush land, rather broken.

Section 5, about one-third light mixed bush; balance broken fern land. Sections 6 and 7, light bush and light soil; land rather broken.

Section 2, Block IV., on Mangorewa River, comprises light bush and light soil; land very broken. Section 3, generally broken; light soil; some fern land, and light bush.

General Description.—These lands lie between Lake Rotorua and the Mangorewa River and Hamurana, distant about six miles by steam-launch from Rotorua wharf. The sections are distant from the main coach-road to Tauranga from two to four miles. As Rotorua grows in population they will doubtless become very valuable, having all a warm north-easterly aspect.
