THE following notice, received from the Chairman of
the Manchester Road Board, is published in accordance
with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1886."

MANCHESTER ROAD BOARD.

The following is the result of a poll taken on Thursday, the
22nd day of February, 1900, on the proposal of the Man-
chester Road Board to borrow the sum of £9,382 under
"The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," and
"The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment
Act, 1899," the said amount to be applied to the construc-
tion of the several works set forth in the schedule attached
to the proposal, and advertised in the Feilding Star, 10th,
17th, 24th, and 31st January, 1900.

Number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 228;
against the proposal, 24; informal, 8.

The majority of the votes recorded in favour of the pro-
posa being more than three-fifths of the votes recorded, I
therefore declare it to be carried.

the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886."

BOROUGH OF STRATFORD.

Result of poll taken on the 1st day of February, 1900, under
the provisions of "The Stratford Borough Empowering
Act, 1899," and of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,"
and of "The Local Government Voting Reform Act, 1899,"
upon a proposal by the Council of the Borough of Stratford
to borrow £28,900 by way of special loan, to be applied to
the various purposes and to the respective amounts as set
forth in clause 6 of the said "Stratford Borough Empower-
ing Act, 1899":-

Number of votes for the proposal, 157; number of votes
against the proposal, 28; number of informal votes, 2;
total number of valid votes, 185,
