A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the second section of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891” (herein termed “the said Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the block of land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.
SCHEDULE.
PAKEHO BLOCK.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 9,969 acres, more or less, situated in the Kawhia South, Maungamangero and Otairake Survey Districts. Bounded towards the north east and east by other part of Pakeho Block, 39000 links and 34000 links; and towards the south and west generally by Arapae Block, by Patiti Block, by the Crown portion of Kinohaku West Block, by Mangarere Stream, and by the Native portion of the Kinohaku West Block: be the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 42207, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirty-first day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 23,994 acres (more or less), situate in the Rotorua and Rotoiti Survey Districts. Bounded generally towards the north-west and north by Taumata No. 3a No. 1b Block, by Crown land, by Ohaupara Stream, by Taumata No. 3a No. 2 Section B Block, again by Crown land, and by the Mangorewa River; towards the east generally by Ngatipahiko, Te Taheke, and Waerenga Blocks; towards the south generally by Rotorua Lake; and towards the south-west by part of Mangorewa-Kaharoa Block (excluding from the above-described area all roads and Native reserves): as the same is delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 41959, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.
