New Zealand Militia.
Captain Norman Lionel D’Arcy Smith, Christ’s College Rifle Volunteers, to be a Captain in the New Zealand Militia, and to act as Staff Officer to the Commander of the New Zealand Forces during the absence of Major Madocks in South Africa. Commission to date from the 9th October, 1899.
