Appointment to date from the 6th January, 1899.

Special Order made by the Wairarapa South County Council altering the Boundaries of Road Districts.

THE following special order, made by the Wairarapa South County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

Wairarapa South County Council.—Special Order.
RESOLVED, That the boundaries of the Featherston and Taratahi-Carterton Road Districts (and accordingly the boundaries of No. 8 Subdivision of the Featherston Road District and No. 8 Subdivision of the Taratahi-Carterton Road District) be, from and after the 1st day of January, 1899, altered as follows:—The new boundary is as follows: Commencing at the mouth of the Wai Uru River, in Block VII., Mount Adams Survey District, and proceeding northerly. Bounded by the centre of the said Wai Uru River to a point where it is cut by the production of the northern boundary of Section 6, in Block VI., Mount Adams; thence by the said production, and by the said northern boundary of Section 6 and of Section 7, to the south-east corner of Section 212; thence by the eastern boundary of Section 212, by part of the southern and by the eastern boundaries of Section 229, all in Block VI., Mount Adams, by the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 228, by part of the eastern boundary of Section 206, by the eastern boundary of Section 203, all in Block II., Mount Adams Survey District, by the eastern boundary of Sections 201, 302, and 301, by the north-eastern boundary of the said Section 301, all in Block XIV., Wainuioru Survey District, and its production to the centre of the Pahaoa River; thence by the said centre of the Pahaoa River to a point in the production of the west boundary of Section 292, Block XI., Wainuioru, by the said production and by part of the said west boundary of Section 292 to the south-east corner of Section 291; thence by the southern and western boundaries of Section 291 and part of the east boundary of Section 290, and by its production to the centre of a public road; thence by the centre of the said public road to a point where it is cut by the east boundary of Section 259; thence by the said east and by the north boundary of the said Section 259, all in Block X., Wainuioru, to the south-eastern corner of Section 237, in Block VI., Wainuioru; and thence by the present boundary of the Taratahi-Carterton and Featherston Road Districts.
I certify that the foregoing special order has been duly passed by the Wairarapa South County Council at a special meeting held the 23rd day of November, 1898, and duly confirmed by same at a subsequent meeting held the 27th day of December, 1898.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Masterton Road District, County of Wairarapa North.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Masterton Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

MASTERTON ROAD DISTRICT.
Result of poll taken on the 21st day of January, 1899, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £140 for metalling on the Kaka-amu Road:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 10, exercising 11 votes: Number of ratepayers who voted in favour of the proposal, 8, exercising 9 votes; unrecorded, 2 votes.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I declare the proposal to be carried.

The following is the result of a poll of ratepayers of the Kaitaia Special Rating District, taken on the 12th January, 1899, on the proposal to raise a loan of £300, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” for the purpose of constructing a road from its junction with the Greytown-Martinborough Road to the Greytown Borough boundary:—
