Rural Lands in the Taranaki Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twenty-seventh day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Rough pastoral country, covered with bush, consisting of rata, tawa, rimu, &c., with the usual undergrowth. The soil varies from fair to good, resting on a papa formation, and is well watered. The access to sections in Block XVI., Ngatimaru, is by the Brewer, Kirai, Makahu, and Murcott Roads, from Strathmore Township, distant about ten miles. The remainder of the sections are approached by way of the Taihore Road from Strathmore, thence across the Mangaehu Stream by a suspension-cage, and up the Puniwhakau Valley by the road of that name now in course of formation as a bridle-road. Distance from Strathmore Township, from nine and a half to twenty miles.

Notifying Lands in Auckland for Sale by Public Auction.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the twenty-ninth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto following the description of such lands respectively.

Lots 25, 92, 121, 218: Each 1 acre; upset price, £5 per lot.
Lot 152: 3 roods 39 perches; upset, £5.
Lot 217: 1 acre 1 rood 23 perches; upset, £7.

Suburbs of Pokeno (Manukau County).
Lots 232, 243, 244: Each 2 roods; upset price per lot, £1.
Lot 230: 1 rood 7 perches; upset, 12s. 6d.
Lot 231: 1 acre 25 perches; upset, £2 6s. 6d.
Lot 241: 3 roods; upset, £1 10s.
Lot 242: 1 rood; upset, 10s.
Lot 245: 1 acre 3 roods; upset, £3 10s.

Section 2, Block XI.: 412 acres 3 roods; total upset price, £454 17s. 6d. Comprises two-thirds mixed forest, containing about 600,000 superficial feet kauri timber, and some totara; balance open fern land, well watered, and situated on Kaeo-Waimate Road, ten miles from Kaeo.

Revoking Appointment of Trustees of Ohaupo Public Cemetery.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the forty-fifth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the warrant of the twenty-eighth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, appointing the Waipa County Council to have the control and management of the Ohaupo Public Cemetery.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine.
