A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the second section of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891” (herein termed “the said Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the block of land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.
SCHEDULE.
PINE VALLEY BLOCK.
ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 19,744 acres, more or less, and being Sections Nos. 1, 2, and 7, Block XVIII., Pine Valley Survey District; Sections Nos. 6, 7, and 8, Block XIII., Onamalutu Survey District; and Small Grazing-runs Nos. 121, 122, 123, 124, 125, and 126, in the Pine Valley, Mount Olympus, Onamalutu, and Patriarch Survey Districts: as the same are delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 40422, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured yellow.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine.

Amended Description of Hauraki Mining District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Mining Act, 1898” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Proclamation constituting the Hauraki Mining District, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 64, of the twentieth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, and in lieu thereof do hereby proclaim and declare that the portion of the colony particularly described in the Schedule hereto shall be the Mining District of Hauraki under the said Act, with the boundaries in the said Schedule mentioned; and I do hereby further proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect as from the seventeenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH ISLAND.—HAURAKI MINING DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-east generally by the sea and Tauranga Harbour, from Cape Colville to the Kaituna River; thence by the estuary of that river towards the south-east, by the road from Maketu to Rotorua to a point where a line drawn from Trig. Station No. 27 (Puwhenua) over the trig. station on Te Taheke intersects the said road; thence towards the south-west by a right line over the said Te Taheke Trig. Station to the said Trig. Station No. 27 (Puwhenua), thence by a right line to Weraiti Trig. Station; thence towards the south and south-west by Okauia No. 1b Block; and again towards the south-west generally by the left bank of the Waihou or Thames River, the Firth of Thames, and the Hauraki Gulf to Cape Colville, the place of commencement: save and excepting Sections Nos. 11 and 18, Block I.; Section No. 19, Block VII.; Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 20, and 26, Block XI.; Sections Nos. 12, 13, 15, 16, and 22, Block XV., Hastings Survey District: comprising an area of 3,295 acres.
Also all that area known as the Great Barrier Island.
