Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth
section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John
Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this
behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare
that the rural lands described in the Schedule hereto shall
be open for sale or selection on and after the sixth day of
September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine;
and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule
may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash,
or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on
lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any lands containing or
supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone,
be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also
fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied,
or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do
declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased
under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”


SCHEDULE.

Auckland Land District.—Unsurveyed Second-class Land.

Rodney County.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situate in
Blocks V. and VI., Pakiri Survey District, and containing
by admeasurement 850 acres, more or less. Bounded
towards the north generally by Sections Nos. 10 and 9 of
Block V., Pakiri Survey District; towards the north-east
by the Pakiri Kauri-gum Reserve and by a forest reserve;
towards the south-east by the Pakiri No. 1 Block; and
towards the south-west by the Te Arai-Matakana Road
to the point of commencement.

Description of land: About three-fourths swamp, remainder fern and tea-tree land; fronting Te Arai-Matakana Road, about five miles from Te Arai Post-office.

Cash price, 7s. 6d. per acre; occupation with right of purchase, 4·5d. per acre per annum; lease in perpetuity, 3·6d. per acre per annum.


Tauranga and Rotorua Counties.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, situate in
Blocks V., VI., IX., and X., Waihi South Survey District,
and Blocks I. and V., Rotorua Survey District, and
containing approximately 14,950 acres. Bounded towards
the north by Sections Nos. 16 of Block V. and 2 of
Block VI., Waihi South Survey District; towards the east
generally by the Waitahanui River; towards the south by
Small Grazing-run No. 14; again towards the east by the
same run, by a road 100 links wide running along the shore
of Roto Ehu Lake, by a Native reserve, and again by a road
running along the shore of Roto Ehu Lake; towards the
south-west generally by Te Rotoiti Block, by a road 100 links
wide running along the shore of Roto Ehu Lake, and again
by Te Rotoiti Block; and towards the west generally by the
Pongakawa River to the point of commencement.

Description of land: One-third mixed forest, remainder open land; situated from sixteen to twenty-five miles from Maketu, and about three miles from main Tauranga-Whakatane Road.

Cash price, 10s. per acre; occupation with right of purchase, 6d. per acre per annum; lease in perpetuity, 4·8d. per acre per annum.

this thirteenth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-nine.

Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth
section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John
Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on and after the sixth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may be selected on lease in perpetuity only, in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-one of the said Act, as they contain, or are supposed to contain, metals, minerals, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”
