As to Expiry of Term of Licenses.

24A. The provisions of subclause (8) of clause 83 of the principal regulations (requiring the term of the therein-mentioned licenses to be so fixed as to expire on the 31st day of December) shall apply only in the case of licenses that are granted subject to the payment of rent or license-fee.

Fees.

  1. Clauses 105 and 106 of the principal regulations (fixing certain fees, and the mode of payment thereof) are hereby revoked.

  2. With respect to licenses for water-races heretofore issued subject to the payment of license-fee under clause 105 of the principal regulations prior to the revocation of that clause, the following special provisions shall apply in every case where the license-fee is not in arrear:—

(1.) At the request of the licensee, and on production of the license, the Registrar shall note thereon, under his hand and the seal of the Court, the words, “Annual renewal of registration, substituted this day of , 1 , in lieu of license-fee.”

(2.) Thereafter the license-fee shall cease to be payable, and in lieu thereof the provisions hereinbefore contained for annual renewal of registration shall apply.

  1. The following fees shall be payable by the applicant in respect of the matters mentioned, that is to say:—

Application-fee in respect of every application to the Warden filed in the office of the Registrar, 2s.

Certificate of protection: Where the period of protection does not exceed fourteen days, 1s.; in any other case, 5s.

Certificate of reduction, 5s.

Amendment of Existing Forms.

  1. The forms set out in the First Schedule to the principal regulations are hereby modified as follows:—

(1.) Forms Nos. 7, 14 to 19, and 36 to 42 are hereby repealed, and in lieu thereof the forms Nos. 78 to 96, as set out in the Second Schedule hereto, may be used.

(2.) Form No. 29 (numerical index) is hereby amended by adding thereto an additional column headed “Volume and Folio of Register,” in which shall be entered in the case of each instrument the volume and folio of the Register in which the registration appears.

(3.) All references to sketch-plans are hereby revoked.

Modification of Principal Regulations.

  1. The principal regulations are hereby modified in so far as they conflict with these regulations, but not further or otherwise.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1898,” the undersigned [Full name, occupation, and residence], being the holder of the claim specified in the Schedule hereto, hereby applies for a certificate reducing to the extent and for the period therein specified, or to such lesser extent and for such lesser period as the Warden thinks fit, the prescribed minimum number of workmen to be employed in working the claim.
