Approving and appointing a Bonding Warehouse.
CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this
purpose vested by “The Customs Laws Consolidation
Act, 1882,” I, the Commissioner of Trade and Customs, do
hereby approve and appoint the under-mentioned warehouse
to be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond,
namely,—
Port of Napier.
A brick building, situated on Town Section 505, facing
Waghorne Street, to be known as
ROBJOHNS’S BOND.
Given under my hand, at Wellington, this twenty-
eighth day of December, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-eight.

Land for Post- and Telegraph-office Site, Newtown.
OFFERS will be received at the General Post Office,
Wellington, until noon of Saturday, the 21st instant,
of a suitable piece of land, with or without building, for a
post- and telegraph-office, at Newtown.
Each offer must be accompanied by a plan showing the
exact position and area of the land, and the lowest price
must be stated.
The position of the land required is, approximately, on
the east or west side of Adelaide Road, between Hospital
Road and Stokes Street, or, if east of Adelaide Road, in the
block which would be contained in a line drawn from the
corner of Adelaide Road and Stokes Street to Rintoul
Street, thence by Sections 961 and 963 to Riddiford Street
and on to the present post-office, thence to the corner of
Constable Street and Daniel Street and on to the corner of
Mein Street, thence by the western side of the Hospital
Reserve to Hospital Road and Adelaide Road.
The lowest or any offer will not necessarily be accepted.

Meeting of Commissioners under “The Urewera District
Native Reserve Act, 1896.”

IT is hereby notified that, in conformity with the regula-
tions made under the provisions of “The Urewera
District Native Reserve Act, 1896,” the Honourable the
Native Minister has fixed the first meeting of the Commis-
sioners appointed under the said Act to be held at the Court-
house at Whakatane on Wednesday, the 1st day of February
next.

SCHOOL FOR DEAF-MUTES, SUMNER, NEAR CHRISTCHURCH.
Under the control and supervision of the Education Department.

FOR Deaf Children of sound intellect. The pupils are
taught to use and understand ordinary speech. The
best age for entrance is between six and seven.
The full charge for board and education is £40 a year,
but less is accepted from parents who cannot afford to pay
this amount. In case of necessity admission is free.
Parents having dumb children between the ages of four
and seven, and other persons desiring information with
regard to the school, are invited to apply to
