DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between the undersigned, carrying on business at Taylorville, near Wanganui, as Produce and General Merchants, has been this day dissolved by mutual consent. The business of the late partnership will be carried on as heretofore, under the old style or firm of “Hogan and Durie,” by Mr. Durie, who will receive all moneys due to the late firm and discharge all the liabilities thereof.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 11th day of March, 1899, in accordance with “The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,” a poll was taken over the above county on the proposal that “The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,” be adopted in the County of Hokianga, and that henceforth property be rated upon the basis of the unimproved value thereof. The result was as follows :—

Smith’s house, Alfred Road, on Monday, 6th March, 1899, on a proposal to raise a loan of £400, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of forming and graveling the Alfred Road, the following votes were recorded :—

Total number of ratepayers and of votes .. 20

A majority in number of the ratepayers, representing more than one-half of the votes exercisable, having voted for the proposal, I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

SCHOOL FOR DEAF-MUTES, SUMNER, NEAR CHRISTCHURCH.

Under the control and supervision of the Education Department.

FOR Deaf Children of sound intellect. The pupils are taught to use and understand ordinary speech. The best age for entrance is between six and seven.

The full charge for board and education is £40 a year, but less is accepted from parents who cannot afford to pay this amount. In case of necessity admission is free.

Parents having dumb children between the ages of four and seven, and other persons desiring information with regard to the school, are invited to apply to
