RESULT of a poll taken on the 16th day of March, 1899, upon the proposal to borrow £250, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its amendments, for forming, grading, and metalling the Poto Road:—

Number of ratepayers on special roll, 5; number of votes exercisable, 6: Number of ratepayers voting in favour of the proposal, 3; number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 4; number of ratepayers voting against the proposal, nil.

I declare the above proposal to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Upper Wangaehu Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

UPPER WANGAEHU ROAD BOARD.

RESULT of poll on proposal to borrow £700 to form the present Mangamahu Valley Bridle-track into a cart-road, Upper Wangaehu Road District:—

Total number of ratepayers on roll, 12, representing 21 votes: Votes recorded for proposal, 11; number of ratepayers voting for the proposal, 8; votes against, 2; number of ratepayers voting against the proposal, 1; informal, nil; votes not recorded, 8; total of votes against, 10.

As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I do hereby declare the proposal to be carried.
