Notifying Lands in Taranaki for Sale by Public Auction.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the twenty-eighth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction, at Stratford; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Section 41 is weighted with £45, valuation for improvements, there being a small four-roomed house on it.

Suburban Section.

The Huiakama Village is situate on the Ohura Road, a short distance from the Township of Strathmore, and about 21½ miles from Stratford Railway-station. It is felled and grassed land, the small sections having a fall towards Mangaotuku Stream. The general character of the soil is good. A creamery has been erected in the village.

The General Assembly Library (on the right) was completed in 1899 and survived the 1907 fire. Now the oldest remaining original Parliament building, still used as the Parliamentary Library.
