from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked: And whereas, pursuant to “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land described in the Schedule hereto, situate in the Auckland Land District, is declared to be brought under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of the said “Public Domains Act, 1881”:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby, and in respect of the land hereinafter mentioned, delegate all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, for the period of ten years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Turanga Domain Board, namely,—
HENRY BROOMFIELD, Turanga Creek, Farmer;
HARRY GRANGER, Turanga Creek, Brickmaker;
CARL OTTO EMANUEL MOLLER, Turanga Creek, Gentleman;
HERBERT WILLIAM SHAW, Turanga Creek, Gentleman;
FREDRIC TRICE, Turanga Creek, Farmer;
AMBROSE TRUST, Turanga Creek, Farmer; and
LEMUEL HENRY WHITE, Turanga Creek, Farmer
(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Monday in the months of January, April, July, and October in each year, at half-past seven o’clock p.m., at the Turanga Creek Public Schoolhouse, or at such other times or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the eighteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the first Monday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

The Board shall prepare and submit at each annual meeting a report of the proceedings for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of December, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
And with the like advice and consent as aforesaid doth hereby also order that this delegation shall take effect in respect of the parcel of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 26 acres, more or less, known as Wade’s Island, Turanga Creek, and being Section No. 133, Pakuranga Parish.

Changing the Purposes of Reserves in the Auckland and Wellington Land Districts.

WHEREAS the provisions and the requirements of the seventh section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” have been duly complied with in respect of the lands described in the first column of the Schedule hereto: And whereas notices in the Gazette have been duly published for four consecutive weeks, and laid before both Houses of the Assembly, as provided by the said section of the said Act: And whereas no resolution of either House of Assembly has been passed that such House does not concur in the intention declared in any such notices:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Act aforesaid, do hereby change the specific purposes of the reserves described in the first column of the Schedule hereto to the specific purposes set opposite such descriptions in the second column of the said Schedule.

FIRST COLUMN.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being part of Section No. 3 of the Parish of Mangapai, and containing by admeasurement 3 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the north by a public road, 392 links; towards the east by a public road, 192 links; and towards the south and west by other portion of Section No. 3 of the Parish of Mangapai, 438 and 182 links respectively, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. Reserved on the 1st September, 1892, by a warrant published in Gazette No. 71, of the 8th September, 1892, as a public-hall site.
Site for a Mechanics’ Institute and Athenæum.
All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being Section No. 156D of the Parish of Omaha, and containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east and south-east by Section No. 156A of the Parish of Omaha, 250 and 200 links respectively; towards the south-west by Section No. 156B of the Parish of Omaha, 250 links; and towards the north-west by a public road, 200 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. Reserved on the 1st September, 1892, by a warrant published in Gazette No. 71, of the 8th September, 1892, as a public-hall site.
Site for Public Library, Mechanics’ Institute, and Athenæum.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section No. 48, Township of Ohau. Bounded on the north by Section No. 49; on the east by Section No. 47; on the south by a public road; and on the west by Section No. 55: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. Reserved on the 24th October, 1890, by a warrant published in Gazette No. 60, of the 30th October, 1890, for public buildings.
Site for a Mechanics’ Institute and Athenæum.
All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 3, Block VI., Taihape Township. Reserved on the 13th August, 1896, by a warrant published in Gazette No. 64, of the 20th August, 1896, for a public-hall site.
Site for a Mechanics’ Institute and Library.

PURSUANT to the powers conferred upon him by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand doth hereby notify that native and imported game shall not be taken or killed on the Little Barrier Island (Hauturu), Auckland Land District.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this ninth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine.
