Vaccination Districts constituted.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in the Governor by “The Public Health Act, 1876,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing vaccination districts known as the Paparoa, Mangawai, Tapanui, Gabriel’s, and Mount Benger Districts, and do declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into seven vaccination districts, the names whereof shall be the Maungaturoto, Paparoa, Mangawai, Heriot, Tapanui, Gabriel’s, and Mount Benger Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be coterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts bearing the same names, as are set forth in a Proclamation of even date herewith, made under the provisions of “The Marriage Act, 1880.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Altering the Name of the Town of Birmingham.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by sections two and three of “The Designation of Districts Act, 1894” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor in Council may, at the request or with the consent of the Council of any county, city, or borough, alter the geographical name or designation of any place or locality in the colony:

And whereas the Kiwitea County Council has requested that the present name of “Birmingham,” within the County of Kiwitea, be altered as hereinafter mentioned, and it appears expedient to comply with such request:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Township of Birmingham, in the County of Kiwitea aforesaid, shall, on and after the fourth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, be called and known by the name of “Kimbolton,” and the name of the said Township of Birmingham is hereby altered accordingly.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Commissioners appointed to classify Rural Lands in the Southland Land District.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the one-hundred-and-eighty-ninth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

DAVID BARRON,
ANDREW KINROSS, and
JOHN McINTYRE

Commissioners to classify and report to me upon the rural lands, in the Southland Land District, known as runs numbered 396, Wallace County, and 497, Stewart Island County, as provided by section one hundred and eighty-nine of “The Land Act, 1892,” aforesaid.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Commissioners to classify and report to me upon the rural lands in the Otago Land District known as Runs Nos. 98, 185, 209, and 465, and Sections 9 and 10, Block VI., Waikouaiti Survey District; Section 1, Block XI., Kuriwao Survey District; Sections 9,10, and 11, Block IX., Kuriwao Survey District; Section 69, Block IV., Table Hill Survey District; Section 3, Block III., Cairnhill Survey District; Sections 2, 3, and 4, Block VIII., Teviot Survey District; Sections 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8, Block V., Teviot Survey District; Section 46, Block II., Teviot Survey District: as provided by section one hundred and eighty-nine of “The Land Act, 1892,” as aforesaid.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Trustees appointed for the Maintenance of the Stratford Public Cemetery.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the forty-fifth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the local authority specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to have the control and management of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

Local Authority. Name of Public Cemetery, and Description of Land.
The Borough Council of Stratford STRATFORD.
All that parcel of land in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section No. 69, Block II., Ngaire Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Swansea Road, 1408 links; towards the south-east by Section No. 75, 711 links; towards the south-west by Section No. 68, 1408 links; and towards the north-west by the East Road, 711 links; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Postmaster appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the eighth section of “The Justices of the Peace Act Amendment Act, 1888,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that

GEORGE GREEN,

being a person holding the office of Postmaster, under “The Post Office Act, 1881,” at Broad Bay, is authorised to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-thirty-fourth section of “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

As witness my hand, this tenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.
