Land set apart for Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the second section of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891” (herein termed “the said Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the block of land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.

Lands taken for a Road through Block VIII., Cloudy Bay Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a portion of a road in the Cloudy Bay Survey District:

And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister has recommended the Governor to issue a Proclamation taking the land as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the construction of the said road.

Vesting Control of Havelock Mud-flat Bridges and Approaches in Pelorus Road Board.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and fourteen of “The Public Works Act, 1894” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may, upon the terms and conditions in the said section mentioned, by Proclamation publicly notified, direct that any bridge already constructed, or which may hereafter be constructed, over or across any river or arm of the sea respectively, shall, from and after a date to be fixed in such Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of such local authority as shall be mentioned in that behalf in such Proclamation; and may by any such Proclamation as aforesaid fix and determine whether all or any, and, if so, what part, of the cost, whether theretofore incurred or thereafter to be incurred, of maintaining, repairing, improving, or reconstructing any such bridge, is to be provided and paid by the local authority or local authorities, and, if so, by what local authority or authorities; and may by any such Proclamation as aforesaid direct how, when, and to whom any such payment is to be made:

And whereas it is expedient that provision should be made under the hereinbefore in part recited Act for the purposes hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by the said Act, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that the bridges, with their protective works and approaches, as defined in the Schedule hereto, and known as “the Havelock Mud-flat Bridges,” shall, from and after the date of this Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of the Pelorus Road Board, and I do hereby define the said protective works and approaches to be part of the said bridges; and, in further pursuance and exercise of the powers aforesaid, I do hereby fix and determine that the entire cost of maintaining, repairing, improving, or reconstructing the said bridges, with their protective works and approaches, is to be provided and paid by the Pelorus Road Board out of the funds of the said Board.


SCHEDULE.

The two bridges over the Kaituna River, known as the “Havelock Mud-flat Bridges,” situated on the Havelock-Mahakipawa Road, together with the protective works and the approaches to the said bridges, generally 150 links wide, the centre-line of which commences near the easternmost corner of Section No. 148, Town of Havelock, and extends along the centre-line of the causeway across the Mud-flats to high-water mark near peg 287: as the same are delineated
