NOTICE is hereby given that the several matters mentioned in the Schedule hereunder written will be heard by the Native Land Court sitting at Wellington on the 10th day of November, 1898, or as soon thereafter as the business of the Court will allow.

"The Native Land Court Act, 1894."
IN THE NATIVE LAND COURT OF NEW ZEALAND.
In the matter of the succession to the interest of Tanira Poheva, deceased, in Ngatirahiri Nos. 4 and 12, and of an application by Sarah Marsh under section 39 of "The Native Land Court Act, 1894."
WHEREAS the above application was referred to the Native Land Court for inquiry and report, and the same has been duly reported on: And whereas it appears that the Court, by its order dated the 10th day of December, 1886, appointed five persons — viz., Mihi Rahira, Whare Maru, E. W. Stockman, Daniel Stockman, and Jane Stockman — to succeed to the interest of the said Tanira Poheva in Ngatirahiri Nos. 4 and 12: And whereas it further appears that the said persons were so appointed as devisees under the will of the said Tanira Poheva: And whereas the decision on which the said order was based is erroneous in point of law, inasmuch as the said interest was not legally devisable, by reason of the restriction on the alienation of the said land:
Now, therefore, for the purpose of remedying the said error, and in exercise of the power vested in me as Chief Judge of the said Court by section 39 aforesaid, I hereby order that the said order, dated the 10th day of December, 1886, be and the same is hereby annulled; and I further order that the Court do, on the application of any person claiming to be entitled, ascertain and determine who are the persons who, according to Native custom, ought to succeed to the interest of the said Tanira Poheva in the said lands, and do amend the orders made on the partition of the said block by substituting therein the names of the successors so appointed for those appointed by the order of the Court hereby annulled.
I direct that this order be notified in the Gazette and Kahiti.
As witness my hand, this 20th day of October, 1898.

WHEREAS the above application was referred to the Native Land Court for inquiry and report, and the same has been duly reported on: And whereas it appears that the Court, by its order, dated the 5th day of November, 1895, appointed three persons — viz., Pipi Tamitere, Hani Ruru, and Karaitiana Akurangi — to succeed to the interest of the said Wi Mahuika in Papakorokoro: And whereas it further appears that the said three persons were so appointed as devisees under the will of the said Wi Mahuika, and that the decision on which the said order is based is erroneous in point of law, inasmuch as the said interest was not legally devisable:
Now, therefore, for the purpose of remedying the said error, and in exercise of the power vested in me, as Chief Judge of the said Court, by section 39 aforesaid, I hereby order that the said order, dated the 5th day of November, 1895, be and the same is hereby annulled.
