Trustees for Leigh Cemetery appointed.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the forty-fifth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the local authority specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to have the control and management of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

The Omaha Road Board LEIGH.
All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, containing by ad-measurement 1 acre 2 roods 34 perches, more or less, being Section No. 77, Village of Leigh, Parish of Omaha. Bounded towards the north and east by high-water mark of the sea; towards the south by high-water mark of the sea and a road, 300 links; and towards the west by Section No. 76, 456 links.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this eleventh day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Appointment of a President of the Court of Arbitration for the Colony of New Zealand under “The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1894.”

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS in exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred upon His Excellency the Governor by “The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1894,” his Honour Worley Bassett Edwards was appointed President of the Court of Arbitration in the place of his Honour Joshua Strange Williams, resigned: And whereas the term of the said appointment expired on the sixteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, and it is expedient to reappoint his Honour the said Worley Bassett Edwards to be President of the said Court:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the said Act, doth hereby appoint

His Honour WORLEY BASSETT EDWARDS,

being a Supreme Court Judge, to be President of the Court of Arbitration.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventeenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Appointment of an Acting-President of the Court of Arbitration for the Colony of New Zealand under “The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1894.”

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS by “The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1894,” it is enacted that during the illness or unavoidable absence of the President of the Court of Arbitration the Governor may appoint some fit person, being a Supreme Court Judge, to be and act as President, who shall hold office only during the illness or unavoidable absence of such Judge: And whereas his Honour Worley Bassett Edwards, the President of the Court of Arbitration, is unavoidably absent by reason of illness:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby appoint

His Honour JOHN EDWARD DENNISTON,

being a Supreme Court Judge, to be and act as the President of the Court of Arbitration during the absence of his Honour Worley Bassett Edwards.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventeenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.
