the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only ; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Situated at Half-way Bay, Lake Wakatipu, about eleven miles from Kingston by steamer. Sections 1A, 2A, and 4A are partly level and partly hilly; Sections 3A, 5A, and 6A are level. The soil on Sections 3A and 5A is fairly good, on rest of sections it is poor. Section 3A is burdened with £23 for improvements, consisting of house, £20; garden and fencing, £3. Section 4A is burdened with £6 for fence through it.

Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auckland and Canterbury.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Land Districts of Auckland and Canterbury described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the description of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.

All that portion of land in the Auckland Land District, being a portion of the Pukenui Block, situate in Block III., Otanake Survey District, and containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north generally by a road-line along the Mangaokewa River, 364 and 317 links; towards the north-east and south-east by the remaining portion of the Pukenui Block, 370 and 569 links; and towards the south-west by a road along the North Island Main Trunk Railway, 733 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on Map No. 6674 (in red), deposited in the office of the Lands and Survey Department at Auckland, in the Auckland Land District, and thereon coloured purple. For a site for a Native school.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being a portion of Kioronui Native Reserve, situate in Block IX., Galatea Survey District, and containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east and east by the Rotorua-Te Whaiti Road, 552, 214, and 554 links; and towards the south-west and north-west by the remaining portion of the Kioronui Native Reserve, 1035 and 682 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on Map No. 6658 (in red), deposited in the office of the Lands and Survey Department at Auckland, in the Auckland Land District, and thereon coloured purple. For a site for a Native school.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being a portion of Papamoa Block, and situate in Block III., Te Tumu Survey District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres, more or less. Bounded on the north by the Tauranga-Te Puke Road, 500 links; and on the east, south, and west by the other portion of the Papamoa Block, 800, 500, and 799 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the above is delineated on Map No. 6656 (in red), deposited in the office of the Lands and Survey Department at Auckland, in the Auckland Land District, and thereon coloured purple. For a site for a Native school.

CANTERBURY.

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 87 acres 6 perches, more or less, being Section No. 3373 (in red), Blocks XIII., Hawkins, and I., Selwyn Survey Districts, and bounded as follows: Towards the west by a road-line, 442·9 links; towards the north-east by Section No. 33567, a road-line, Sections Nos. 33568 and 33569, a road-line, Reserve No. 1763, Section No. 34451, and Reserve No. 1763, 29289 links; towards the south-east by the road-line west of Reserve No. 3050, 356·1 links; towards the south-west by road-lines, 29155 links: save and except two road-lines, each 100 links wide, which intersect the area hereby described, also all necessary roads required to give access to abutting properties: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Christchurch. For a plantation.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve in the Taranaki Land District.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserve or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor may, by notice gazetted, declare his intention to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the portion of the reserve described in the second column of
