Fixing Sitting of Court of Appeal.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of September, 1898.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by “The Court of Appeal Act, 1882,” it is enacted that the Court shall hold its sittings at such times and places as shall from time to time be fixed by the Governor in Council, and proclaimed in the Government Gazette twenty-one days at least before the times so fixed respectively:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby fix that a sitting of the Court of Appeal of New Zealand shall be held within the Supreme Court House, in the City of Wellington, upon Monday, the seventeenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon.

Making Alterations in Regulations of 15th February, 1898, under “The Government Valuation of Land Act, 1896.”

IN pursuance and exercise of all powers and authorities vested in him by “The Government Valuation of Land Act, 1896,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby further alter the regulations under the said Act made by Order in Council dated the fifteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, to the following extent:—

In clause twenty, in the third line, by striking out the amount “2s. 6d.,” and inserting “6d.” in lieu thereof.

By adding to clause 20 the following subclause:—
“(5.) Nothing in this clause contained shall affect any special arrangement, whether of a general nature or relating to a particular case, which may have been or may hereafter be made between the Valuer-General and any office or department named in subclause (b) of clause 40 of these regulations, or any statutory public body, with reference to the amount of fee to be charged for a certified copy of a valuation, or for a new valuation, or with reference to any annual contribution in lieu of fees. The amount of any fee or contribution payable pursuant to any such arrangement as aforesaid shall be in lieu of the fee or fees otherwise payable under this clause.”

Domett Recreation-ground brought under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of September, 1898.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the land known as the Domett Domain, in the Canterbury Land District, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881”; and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 8 acres 3 roods 38 perches, more or less, being Reserve No. 3241, situate in Block XVI., Lowry Peaks Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by the Waipara-Homestead Road, 901·6 links; towards the north-east by Reserve No. 3043, 997 links; on the south-east by Sections Nos. 42 and 41 of the Domett Settlement, 901·6 links; and on the south-west by Sections Nos. 41 and 37 of the said settlement, 997 links.

Powers delegated to the Domett Domain Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of September, 1898.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by the twelfth section of “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred, save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons, for any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be specified in such Order, and that every such delegation may from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked: And whereas, pursuant to “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land described in the Schedule thereto, situate in the Canterbury Land District, being Reserve No. 3241, Block XVI., Lowry Peaks Survey District, is declared to be brought under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of the said “Public Domains Act, 1881”:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth by this present Order delegate all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Domett Domain Board, namely,—

PERCY WOOD,
MARLBOROUGH CRAMPTON,
ANDREW ROBERTSON,
THOMAS LEICESTER OSBORNE,
ALFRED DENTON, and
CHARLES ROBERTS
(hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the third Monday in each month, at half-past seven o’clock p.m., at the schoolhouse, Domett, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the seventeenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the third Monday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
