A PPLICATION having been made to me for the issue of
a provisional Crown lease, in the name of ARCHI-
BALD WATSON SHAND, for Sections 11 and 12, Block 14,
Takapau Survey District, being all the land comprised
in Lease No. 1925, Vol. 3L, folio 144, of the Register-book,
and a statutory declaration of the loss of the original lease
having been lodged with me, I hereby give notice that I will
issue such provisional lease unless caveat be lodged for-
bidding the same on or before the 23rd day of September
next.
Dated at the Land Transfer Office, Napier, this 1st day of
September, 1898.

T HE Partnership hitherto existing between the under-
signed as Drapers, &c., in the business carried on in
“Te Aro House” under the style or firm of “James Smith
and Co.,” has this day been dissolved by mutual consent.
The business will in future be carried on by the under-
signed, WILLIAM HENRY CARTER, on his own account, and he
will discharge the debts and liabilities of the Partnership.

THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of 30s.
per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than
three months cannot be subscribed for.
Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.
Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for
the first insertion and 3d. per line for the second and any
subsequent insertion.
Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged
23s.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible
hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday even-
ing in each week, and notices for insertion must be received
by the Government Printer before three o’clock of the day
preceding publication.
Communications should be addressed to the Government
Printer, Wellington, to whom post-office money-orders
should be made payable. Cheques should be crossed “Pub-
lic a/c,” and exchange added.
Postage- or duty-stamps cannot be received in payment
from any place at which postal notes or post-office orders are
issued.
Prepayment may be demanded in any case. In order to
prevent delay in publication a sufficient remittance should
accompany every advertisement. Any surplus will be
returned with receipted account.
