FIRMED 18TH JANUARY, 1898.

  1. THAT T. Kennedy Macdonald and Co. (Limited) be
    wound up voluntarily in accordance with the pro-
    visions of “The Companies Act, 1882.”
  2. That David Brand, of the City of Wellington, be and
    is hereby appointed Liquidator of the said company at a
    remuneration of £5 5s.

IN conformity with and for the purposes of section 7 of
the above Act, notice is hereby given that the Office or
place of business of the China Traders’ Insurance Company
(Limited) in Masterton is in Queen Street, at the office of
the Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-operative Association (Limited),
instead of at the office of Messrs. John Mowlem and Co., as
formerly.

PHARMACY BOARD OF NEW ZEALAND.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the
Registrar to proceed, on the 16th day of November,
1898, to the election of seven duly registered pharmaceutical
chemists to be members of the Pharmacy Board of New
Zealand.
Nominations of all candidates for election must be sent in
in the form prescribed by the regulations, addressed to the
Registrar of the Board, Box 303, Chief Post-office, Auck-
land, before 5 p.m. on the 1st day of November, 1898.

NOTICE is hereby given that ALEXANDER DAVIDSON has
this day retired from the firm of “Davidson, Irvine,
and Co.,” carrying on business at Napier as Merchants, and
that the business of the late firm of Davidson, Irvine,
and Co. will in future be carried on by the firm of “J. Vigor
Brown and Co.”
And notice is also hereby given that all debts owing to
the late firm of “Davidson, Irvine, and Co.” are to be paid
to the firm of “J. Vigor Brown and Co.,” and that such
firm will discharge all liabilities of the late firm of David-
son, Irvine, and Co.

a poll of the Ratepayers of the County of Inangahua,
taken on the 14th day of May, 1898, on the proposal that
“The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,” be adopted
in the Inangahua County, and that henceforth property be
rated on the basis of the unimproved value thereof:—

Number of votes exercisable by them .. .. 809
Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal 239
Number of votes recorded for the proposal .. 284
Number of ratepayers who voted against the

As more than one-third of the ratepayers exercised their
votes, and a majority of the votes recorded being in favour
of the proposal, I therefore declare it carried.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of 30s.
per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than
three months cannot be subscribed for.
Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.
Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for
the first insertion and 3d. per line for the second and any
subsequent insertion.
Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged
23s.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible
hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday even-
ing in each week, and notices for insertion must be received
by the Government Printer before three o’clock of the day
preceding publication.
Communications should be addressed to the Government
Printer, Wellington, to whom post-office money-orders
should be made payable. Cheques should be crossed “Pub-
lic a/c,” and exchange added.
Postage- or duty-stamps cannot be received in payment
from any place at which postal notes or post-office orders are
issued.
Prepayment may be demanded in any case. In order to
prevent delay in publication a sufficient remittance should
accompany every advertisement. Any surplus will be
returned with receipted account.
