Order by the Controller and Auditor-General fixing a Rate under Section 15 of “The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896.”
Audit Office,
Wellington, 8th August, 1898.
UNDER the authority of section 15 of “The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,” I, the Controller and Auditor-General, being satisfied that the change in the mode of levying rates by the Council of the Borough of Pahiatua will, in consequence of the adoption of “The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,” within the district of the said borough, have the effect of diminishing the security for the Mangatainoka Bridge loan of £1,771 12s. 1d., granted to the Council under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” hereby fix a rate of 1¾d. in the pound on the unimproved value as the security for the said loan, this being the rate which will, as nearly as may be, produce the same amount as the rate levied before the change was made.
