Amending the Description of the Native Township of Te Puia.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the description contained in the Schedule to a certain Proclamation made the tenth day of November last, under the provisions of “The Native Townships Act, 1895,” setting apart land for the Native Township of Te Puia:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the parcel of Native land so set aside as the Native Township of Te Puia, as aforesaid, are those set forth in the Schedule hereto, in lieu of those described in the said Proclamation of the tenth day of November last.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 497 acres, more or less, being part of the Waipiro No. 6 or Te Puia Block, situate in Block XVI., Mata Survey District. Bounded towards the north by the Waipiro No. 1 Block and a road, 2508·1 links, 2932·3 links, and 514·7 links respectively; towards the east by other portion of Waipiro No. 6 or Te Puia Block aforesaid, 351·5 links and 5313·9 links respectively; towards the south generally by the Waipiro No. 5 Block, the abutment of a road, and by Waipiro No. 1 Block aforesaid, 4444 links, 4496·4 links, and 1071·8 links respectively; and towards the west generally by the Makarika Stream to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on plan marked S.G. 29806, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, in the Land District of Wellington, and thereon edged red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Land taken for a Street in the City of Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain work, to wit, the widening of a street known as Old Customhouse Street, in the City of Wellington:
And whereas the Wellington City Council has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the widening of the said street, and shall be vested in the Mayor, Council, and Citizens of the City of Wellington.
