Notice of the Laying-off of a Road over Native Land
through the Ngakorako Reserve.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under
the authority of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” that the road
described in the Schedule hereto was, on the 15th May, 1895,
duly taken and laid off through the land specified in the said
Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said
colony, by a warrant dated the 1st May, 1895.

AUKAWA ROAD (NGATIMARU, BLOCK II.).

As the said area is delineated upon the plan marked as
above mentioned, and deposited in the District Office of the
Lands and Survey Department at New Plymouth, in the
Taranaki Land District, and thereon coloured as above
noted.

Application to proclaim the Okari River and Spring Creek,
and the Ourawera Stream, in the Land Districts of Nelson
and Southland, together with all their Tributaries, Water-
courses for the Deposit of Tailings.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in him by section 152
of “The Mining Act, 1891,” His Excellency the
Governor directs it to be notified that application has been
made to him to proclaim the following river and streams
in the Land Districts of Nelson and Southland to be
watercourses into which tailings, mining débris, and waste
water of every kind used in, upon, or discharged from any
claim or licensed holding adjacent to such watercourses
shall be suffered to flow or be discharged.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.

That river known as the Okari River, which rises in the
spurs of Buckland Peaks, and flows into the Tasman Sea at
the outlet of what is known as the Totara Lagoon, on the
Nine-mile Beach; together with the tributaries thereof.
That creek known as Spring Creek, which rises in the
Spurs of the Brunner Range, and flows into the Buller
River at a point known as Three-channel Flat; together
with the tributaries thereof.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

That stream known as the Ourawera Stream, which
rises in Block XII., Longwood Survey District, and flows in
a general southerly direction into Kawakapatu Bay, at the
south boundary of Block VIII., Longwood Survey District;
together with the tributaries thereof.

Notice to the Public Trustee.

Wellington, 21st June, 1898.

WHEREAS Daniel Graham Rogers and Ellen Rogers
are at present detained as inmates of St. Mary’s
Industrial School, Nelson (a school established under “The
Industrial Schools Act, 1882”), and such inmates are en-
titled to certain real property, being Rural Section 25476,
containing by admeasurement 100 acres, and situate in the
Alford District, in the Colony of New Zealand: And
whereas it appears expedient to issue the direction herein-
after set forth: Now, I, William Campbell Walker, the
Minister of Education, do hereby, in exercise of the power
conferred by section 3 of “The Industrial Schools Act
Amendment Act, 1895,” direct the Public Trustee to act in
accordance with the provisions of such last-mentioned Act
with respect to the property of the said Daniel Graham
Rogers and Ellen Rogers.
