I, THE undersigned, hereby make application to register the Boatman’s Creek Sluicing Company as a limited company under the provisions of “The Mining Companies Act, 1894.”

  1. The name of the company is to be the Boatman’s Creek Sluicing Company (Limited).

  2. The place of operations is at Boatman’s Creek, close to Capleston, in the County of Inangahua, in the Colony of New Zealand.

  3. The registered office of the company will be situated at Bridge Street, Reefton, in the county and colony aforesaid.

  4. The nominal capital of the company is three thousand one hundred and twenty-five pounds, in twenty-five thousand shares of two shillings and sixpence each.

  5. The number of shares subscribed for is twenty-five thousand.

  6. The number of paid-up shares is one thousand.

  7. The amount already paid up is one hundred and twenty-five pounds.

  8. The name of the Manager pro tem. is James Frederick Clark.

OWHAROA GOLD-MINING COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in the above company, held at the office of the company, Hobson’s Buildings, Shortland Street, Auckland, on the 21st day of December, 1897, the following extraordinary resolution was unanimously passed, viz.,—

“That the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of ‘The Companies Act, 1882,’”—

And that the above resolution was confirmed at an extraordinary general meeting, held on the 6th day of January, 1898; and, further, that Seering H. Matthews was at such meeting appointed the Official Liquidator.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT WATER-RACE.

Otago Mining District, 8th January, 1898.

To the Warden at Livingstone.

WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct a water-race to divert and use water for irrigation purposes, commencing at a point at junction of north and south branches of Awakino River, on Runs 2 and 5 of 23, Kurow District, and terminating at Lot 1, Land Company’s plan, Block I., being F. G. A. Hille’s section.

The length of such race is 9 miles or thereabouts, and its intended course is through Sections 7, 8, and 6, Block IV., through both W. Sutherland’s and J. Wilson’s portions of Run 9 of 23, through the Presbyterian Church glebe portion of Lot 1, Land Company’s plan, Block I., to Hille’s section. From Section 8, Block IV., to Wilson’s portion of Run 9 of 23, the race follows a natural watercourse. Also a branch race to carry two heads of water from Section 7, Block IV., through Section 5, Block IV., to Section 8, Block IV.

The mean depth of such race is 1 ft., and the mean breadth is 4 ft., and it is proposed to divert twelve Government heads of water.

License required for fifteen years.

Cost of construction : £200.

Time required for construction : Nine months.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders held at the offices of Messrs. Cook and Gray, 171, Hereford Street, Christchurch, on the 22nd December, 1897, the following extraordinary resolution was unanimously passed :—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same; and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.

“That Thomas A. Arrowsmith be appointed Liquidator.”
