Notice of Request to amend Specification.
Patent Office,
Wellington, 11th May, 1898.
A REQUEST for leave to amend the specification (including drawings) relating to the under-mentioned application for letters patent has been received, and is open to public inspection at this office. Any person may at any time within one month from the date of this Gazette give me notice in writing of opposition to the amendments. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon.
No. 9946.—28th September, 1897.—Joseph Peter Hamilton, of 31, Moray Place, Dunedin, New Zealand, Tinsmith. An improved soldering apparatus.
The nature of the proposed amendments is as follows:—
A. To insert the following words and letters, viz.:—
(1.) “showing various means of keeping the platform above the surface of the melted metal when not in use,” after the word “use,” line 10, page 2.
(2.) “E’ is any arrangement of lever for the same purpose, to be used either with or without the spring E, and it may rest on any convenient place as a fulcrum, and end either in a spring such as E, or in a balance-weight as shown and marked E’,” between the paragraphs commencing with the letters “D” and “F” respectively, page 2.
(3.) “G is a small tube more to be used in the larger tins, or where, from the formation of either the bottom of the tin or the top of the platform, there is a space for enclosing air, as it is obvious that if there is no such space it would not be needed,” after the sentence commencing with the letter “F,” page 2.
