NOTICE is hereby given that the several matters mentioned in the Schedule hereunder written will be heard by the Native Land Court sitting at Whangarei on the 21st day of March, 1898, or as soon thereafter as the business of the Court will allow.

INQUIRY UNDER SECTION 39 OF "THE NATIVE LAND COURT ACT, 1894."

  1. Whereas on the 6th day of July, 1885, the Court sitting at Kaihu, Kaipara, investigated the title to a block of land called Rimurere, as delineated on Plan No. 4893, and ordered that a certificate under "The Native Land Court Act, 1880," should issue in the name of Wereta Pou: And whereas it is now alleged—

1.) That the persons appearing before the Court on such investigation understood that the Court was ascertaining the ownership of the block of land known as Pohoatua No. 2, or Rimurere, as delineated on Plan No. 5434;

(2.) That Pohoatua No. 2, or Rimurere, is the land that belonged to Wereta Pou;

(3.) That Mangakakahi No. 2 is the proper name of the land delineated on Plan No. 4893, and called Rimurere;

(4.) That Mangakakahi No. 2 Block belongs to Kiore Tito or his descendants:

And whereas the Chief Judge has referred the said matter to the Court for inquiry and report under the provisions of section 89 of "The Native Land Court Act, 1894," and section 49 of "The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895":

Now, therefore, notice is hereby given that the said matter will be inquired into by the Native Land Court sitting at Whangarei on the 21st day of March, 1898, or as soon thereafter as the business of the Court will allow.
