Every candidate for election is to be nominated by one or more electors entitled to vote for his election, and the nomination is to bear the candidate’s consent thereto. Nominations will close at noon on Monday, the 4th April, 1898.
Applications for enrolment, and all notices, &c., relating to the election, are to be addressed to “The Returning Officer for the Victoria College Council Election, Education Department, Wellington,” from whom copies of the regulations and forms may be obtained. Copies of the Act are to be had from the Government Printer; price, 9d.

PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand passed in the forty-fourth year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, and entitled “The Marriage Act, 1880,” the following names of Officiating Ministers within the meaning of the said Act are published for general information:—
Church of the Province of New Zealand, commonly called the Church of England.

Notice published pursuant to the Provisions of Section 15 of “The Public Trust Office Consolidation Act, 1894.”

NOTICE is hereby given that, no person having taken out administration, the Public Trustee has filed in the office of the Supreme Court at Wellington an election to administer the several intestate estates of the persons deceased whose names, residences, and occupations, so far as known, are hereunder respectively set forth, their gross properties being estimated not to exceed £250 in each case.
Frederick Albert Horne, otherwise called Frederick Horne, late of Dunedin, in the Provincial District of Otago, bootmaker. Filed on the 16th February, 1898.
Reginald Thomas Zealandia Maxwell, late of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, minor. Filed on the 25th February, 1898.
Frederick Stephen Earle Gortley, late of Moawhango, in the Provincial District of Wellington, labourer. Filed on the 25th February, 1898.
Robert Pryce, late of Ponsonby, in the Provincial District of Auckland, miner. Filed on the 25th February, 1898.

Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”
To the owner or owners of both or either of the following sections of land, situate in the Parish of Waioeka, in the Provincial District of Auckland—namely, Section 216, containing 50 acres; Section 241, containing 50 acres. The last registered owner of both sections is Henry Reed, described as of Opotiki, settler, who cannot be traced.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”
To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing 1 acre, more or less, being Allotment 185 of Section 2, in the Town of Opotiki, County of Whakatane, in the Provincial District of Auckland. The land was Crown-granted to one John Fitzgerald, who never lifted his title, and of whose whereabouts nothing can be traced. The land is now in the occupation of Mr. Thomas Green, of Opotiki.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”
