powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the portion of road known as the Makiekie Road described in the Schedule below, and which was made by the Governor under the powers contained in “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and has hitherto been a Government road, shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.
PORTION OF THE MAKIEKIE ROAD RUNNING THROUGH THE SALISBURY AND DELAWARE BLOCKS.
That part of the Makiekie Road extending from its junction with the Makoura Road, near the southernmost corner of Section No. 16, Block XII., Apiti Survey District, to the production of the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 2 of Block XVI., and lying wholly in said Block XVI.; as the same is delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 20797, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured brown.

Extending Time for Preparation of Valuation List of Borough of Foxton.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fourth day of March, 1898.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that the valuation list of the Borough of Foxton cannot be completed by or within the time mentioned in “The Rating Act, 1894”:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in him by the said “Rating Act, 1894,” and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time for completing the preparation of such valuation list until the twenty-second day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, and doth also extend the time during which such valuation list shall be open for inspection and during which objections thereto may be made until the twenty-second day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by “The Government Valuation of Land Act, 1896,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby direct that the valuations for the time being appearing in the general valuation roll shall, in addition to the purposes specified in the Order in Council making regulations, dated the fifteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, be used for the purposes following, that is to say:—
The assessment of stamp duties under “The Stamp Act, 1882,” and duties under “The Deceased Persons’ Estates Duties Act, 1881.”

WHEREAS the local authority of the Town Board of Opunake, being duly authorised by “The Shops and Shop-assistants Act, 1894,” to appoint by special resolution, in the month of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, the day on which shops in the said Town Board are to be closed in accordance with the said Act, has failed so to appoint a day:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section ten of the said Act, do hereby appoint Wednesday to be the day on which shops shall be closed in the said Town Board of Opunake, in accordance with the said Act.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1877,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby incorporate the members of the Northern Wairoa Agricultural and Pastoral Association, and such persons as shall hereafter be admitted members of the said association agreeably to the rules of the said association and the provisions of the said Act, into a body corporate under the said Act, under the style and title of “The Northern Wairoa Agricultural and Pastoral Association.”

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Public Health Act, 1876,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the place mentioned in the second column of the Schedule hereto as and to be the place at which the Public Vaccinator appointed for the district mentioned in the first column of the said Schedule shall attend for the performance of vaccination, as required by the said Act; and I do hereby give notice that such Public Vaccinator will attend at the place aforesaid, for the purpose of performing such vaccination, on the days and at the hours set forth in the third column of the said Schedule opposite the name of such place; and, further, that at such place as last aforesaid the Public Vaccinator will attend, for the purpose of inspecting the progress of such vaccination in the persons so vaccinated, on the days and at the hours respectively set forth in the fourth column of the said Schedule opposite the name of such place.
