NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT WATER-RACE.

Otago Mining District, 11th February, 1898.
To the Warden at Livingstone.

I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a water-race to divert and use water for irrigation and industrial purposes, commencing at a point 60 chains up the Big Awakino Creek from the district-road-crossing at the coal-pits, and terminating at the aforesaid road-crossing opposite the coal-pits, where the water is returned to its natural channel.

The length of such race is 60 chains or thereabouts, and its intended course is through a portion of Small Grazing-run 5 of 23, in a northerly direction.

The mean depth of such race is 1 ft. 6 in., and the mean breadth is 2 ft. 6 in., and it is proposed to divert three Government heads of water.

License required for fifteen years.

Cost of construction: £20.

Time required for construction: Two months.

Number and date of miner’s right: 29,996; 11/2/98.
