"The Native Land Court Act, 1894."

KIRIPAKA NO. 1B NOS. 1, 2, 3, AND 4.—AMENDMENT OF BOUNDARIES.

Native Land Court Office, Auckland, 14th February, 1898.

54 WHEREAS notice under section 40 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” has been given by H. Munro Wilson, authorised surveyor, that it has appeared to him, when making a survey for the purpose of carrying out the orders of the Court for Kiripaka No. 1B Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 4 Blocks, that a deviation from certain lines laid down by the Court would be expedient:

Now, therefore, it is hereby notified that a Judge will sit at Whangarei, on the 15th day of March, 1898, to make such inquiries in the matter as he may think fit, and, after hearing the parties interested, to vary or amend the orders in such manner as he may consider advisable.

Land referred to the Native Land Court for Inquiry under Section 14 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894.”

IN pursuance of an Order in Council, dated the 11th day of October, 1897, authorising the Native Land Court to exercise its jurisdiction under subsection (10) of section 14 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” in respect of the land described in the Schedule hereto, and to determine whether the said land, or any part thereof, was, on the investigation of title thereto, intended by the Native Land Court, or by the nominal owner or owners of such land, to be held by such nominal owner or owners in trust for Natives not named in the title, and to determine who are the Natives (if any) entitled beneficially to such lands, and to order the inclusion of such Natives in the title, either together with or in lieu of the nominal owners or any of them, and for the purpose aforesaid to order the cancellation or amendment of any existing instrument of title, and the issue of such new Crown grants or other instruments of title as may be necessary, and generally to exercise in respect of the said land all the jurisdiction and powers conferred on the Native Land Court by subsection (10) of section 14 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” it is hereby notified that at a sitting of the Native Land Court to be held at Whangarei on the 15th day of March, 1898, and succeeding days, the Court will proceed to inquire into the above cases, in accordance with the terms of the said Order in Council.

All objections to the granting of such certificate must be lodged with me within fourteen days from the publication of this notice.
