said, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Woodbury Public Domain Board, namely,—
FREDERICK ROBERT FLATMAN,
JOSEPH WOODING,
JOHN THATCHER,
HENRY FABER BROWN, and
JOSEPH WEBB
(hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Monday in each month, at half-past seven o'clock p.m., at the Woodbury Schoolhouse, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the sixth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days' notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the first Monday in February in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 126 acres 2 roods 33 perches, more or less, being Reserve No. 1544, situate in the Orari and Geraldine Survey Districts. Bounded towards the north-east by Sections Nos. 3609 and 15892, 3319 and 4007 links respectively; towards the south-east by Sections Nos. 15590 and 15892, 3689 links, and a road-line 430 links; towards the south-west by a road-line, 6260 links; and towards the north-west by Section No. 17116, 3547 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: save and excepting thereout Reserve No. 2828, for a cemetery, and a public road running along the north-western boundary of said reserve, which are included within the above-described boundaries: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch.

At the Parliament Buildings, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of November, 1897.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the thirteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice and consent, by this present Order, delegate, but only with respect to the piece or parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Lauder Public Domain Board, namely,—
GEORGE NAYLOR,
WILLIAM JACK,
CHRISTOPHER HUDDLESTONE,
WILLIAM LAIDLAW, and
JOHN SIMES
(hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The first meeting shall be held on Saturday, the twenty-seventh day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days' notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Bounded towards the north by Section No. 3 of same block, 3845 links; towards the east by Section No. 7 of same block, 4901 links; towards the south by a road-line, 3845 links; and towards the west by a road-line, 4901 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Southland.

RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was heretofore duly reserved as a site for a police-station, being a reserve in Class I. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and such land has not been vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees: And whereas it is expedient that such reserve shall be appropriated for the purposes of a site for a benevolent home for women, being a reserve in Class III. of the aforesaid Act:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the second section of “The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” do by this notification hereby declare that the said reserve shall, from and after the thirtieth day of November, be appropriated for the purposes of a site for a benevolent home for women, under Class III. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881”; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.
