"The Native Land Court Act, 1894."

WHEREAS a Judge of the Supreme Court has, in pursuance of the provisions of section 96 of "The Native Land Court Act, 1894," referred to the Native Land Court for its opinion the questions of fact hereunder stated:—

  1. Was Ngatipinenga in 1867 a hapu of Ngatitamatera, or was it a distinct tribe or iwi?
  2. Did Kairaumati No. 1 belong to Ngatitamatera or to Ngatipinenga?
  3. Did Kairaumati No. 2 belong to Ngatitamatera or to Ngatipinenga?
  4. Was Kairaumati No. 1 granted to the grantees as Ngatitamatera or Ngatipinenga?
  5. Was Kairaumati No. 2 granted to the grantees as Ngatitamatera or Ngatipinenga?

Now notice is hereby given that the said questions will be inquired into and determined by the Native Land Court sitting at Shortland, Thames, on the 18th day of November, 1897, or as soon thereafter as the business of the Court will allow.
