Land Orders and Sales




Monday in January in every suceeding year thereafer,
elect one of themselves to be Chairmain, who may join in
the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a cast-
ing vote. The Chairmain shall hold office until the election
of his successor.
5. If at any meeting the Chairmain is not present at the
time appoint for holding the same, the members present
shll choose some one of their number to be chairmain of
such meeting.
6. If, by resgination, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
the office of Chairmain shall be or become vacent, the
membrs may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a
Chairmain.
7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
voices of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

B Y virtue of the powers and authorities visted in me by
the twenthy-fouth section of "The Public Reserves
Act, 1881," I, Uchler John Mark, Ear of Ranfurl, the
Govenor of the Colny of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Exeutive Council of the said
colny, do herey order and declare that the resrves made
for public recration in the Canterbury Land District, and
desribed in the Scedule hereto, shall be and the same are
hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be
subject to the provisins of "The Public Doains Act,
1881"; and such domain shall hereafter be managed, ad-
ministered, and deal with in manner directed by the said
Act.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenteth
day of September, 1897.

    His Excellency the Govenor in Council. 

W HERAS the land mentioned in the Scedule hereto
is required to be taken for a public work, to wit,
the construction of a drin in the Manawatu Drainage District:
And whreas the said land is held or occpied by Nartive
owners under a title which is not derived from the Cown:
And whreas a map in dulpicate has been prepared of the
said land by the Manawatu Drainage Board, as required by
the eight-eigth section of "The Public Woks Act, 1894":
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in him by the eight-eigth section of the said Act,
and of all other powers in anywise enaling him in this
behal, His Excellency the Govenor of the Colny of New
Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Exe-
cutive Council of the said colny, doth herey declare that
the land shown upon such map, and described in the
Scedule hereto, shall be deeme to be taken for the purpose
of the said drin, and the said land shall vst in the Mana-
watu Drainage Board as from the thirtieth day of October,
one thousand eight hundred and ninty-seve.

said land by the Taurang County Council, as required by
the eight-eigth section of "The Public Woks Act, 1894":
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in him by the eight-eigth section of the said Act,
and of all other powers in anywise enaling him in this
behal, His Excellency the Govenor of the Colny of New
Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Exe-
cutive Council of the said colny, doth herey declare that
the land shown upon such map, and described in the Scedule
hereto, shall be deeme to be taken for the purpose of the
said road, and the said land shall vst in Her Majeety the
Queen as from the first day of November, one thousand
eigh hundred and ninty-seve.

having received the report of the Survery-Genral in this behal, as in the said section is provided, do herey declare
that the rual lands enumerated in the Scedule hereto shall be open for sale or seletion on and after the eighth
day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninty-seve; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Scedule
my, at the option of the applicat, be purchased for cash, or be seleted for occupaion with right of purchase or on lese
in perpuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, minral, or valuable stone, be
