Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor by the Native owner of the land described in the Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of such land contained in the Crown grant bearing date the seventh day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court has recommended that such restrictions be removed:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the fifty-second section of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” and in accordance with the recommendation of the Native Land Court, doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed by the said Crown grant on the alienation of the said land are hereby removed.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land, containing 250 acres, situate in the Provincial District of Taranaki, being Section No. 1, Block XI., Mimi Survey District, held under Crown grant dated 7th October, 1884, in favour of Miriama Tarewa, and containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable by sale, or by lease for a longer period than twenty-one years, or by mortgage, except with the consent of the Governor being previously obtained to every such sale, lease, or mortgage.”
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this first day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by “The Electoral Act, 1893,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing polling-places for the Electoral District of City of Dunedin, and do hereby appoint the under-mentioned places to be polling-places for the said electoral district:—

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of City of Christchurch, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886.”

Sir,—I have the honour, in compliance with “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” section 184, to forward the following notice for your information:—
The Richmond Ward of this city proposes to raise a loan for special purposes under sections 185 and 186 of the said Act, and, under Part IX. of the same, the Council published the special loan, held the meeting of burgesses, and took the poll in accordance with the provisions of the Act, sections 177–183.
The number of burgesses on the roll, 268; the number of votes, 298. The result of the poll was—For the proposal, 128; against the proposal, 37.
I therefore declare the proposal carried, and further declare that the provisions of the said Act for raising a “special loan” have been complied with.

I, Walter Henry Cooper, of Christchurch, Mayor, do solemnly and sincerely declare that the provisions with respect to the raising of a special loan, under Part IX. of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” for the Richmond Ward of the City of Christchurch, have been complied with, and that the same was duly carried by the vote of the burgesses, as follows:—
