Native Land proposed to be taken for a Road in the Tauranga County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of September, 1897.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work, to wit, the construction of a road through Native Reserve Rangiuru 2B, Block II., Maketu Survey District:

And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:

And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the said land by the Tauranga County Council, as required by the eighty-eighth section of "The Public Works Act, 1894":

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the eighty-eighth section of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purpose of the said road, and the said land shall vest in Her Majesty the Queen as from the first day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

The parcel of land mentioned hereunder :-

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of September, 1897.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserves made for public recreation in the Wellington Land District, and

known as the Makuri Recreation-ground, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same are hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of "The Public Domains Act, 1881"; and such domain shall be hereafter managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act by the Domain Board constituted by an Order in Council issued on the eleventh day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 14 acres 2 roods 5 perches, more or less, being Suburban Section No. 159, Makuri Township, Makuri Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 160; towards the east by Section No. 4; towards the south by Section No. 158; and towards the west by Titoki Street: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington.

All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres 1 rood 13 perches, more or less, being Suburban Section No. 167, Makuri Township, Makuri Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 44; towards the east and south by Upper Makuri Road; and towards the west by Section No. 166: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of September, 1897.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section four of "The Public Bodies' Powers Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), it is provided that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time declare that any leasing authority shall be subject to the provisions of the said Act, but that no such Order shall have any effect unless it be issued at the request or upon the recommendation of the leasing authority on whose behalf such Order is issued:

And whereas it has been made to appear that the Rangiora High School Board are a leasing authority within the meaning of the said Act, and have requested that they may be brought under the provisions thereof:

Now, therefore, His Excellency Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, doth hereby order and declare that from and after the date hereof the Rangiora High School Board shall be subject to the provisions of "The Public Bodies' Powers Act, 1887."

Notifying Lands in Auckland for Sale by Public Auction.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirteenth section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the twenty-sixth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto following the description of such lands respectively.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

Township of Howick.—Lot 32, Section 2 : 2 roods 14 perches ; upset price, £11 15s.

Suburbs of Mercer.—Lot 10 : 3 acres 3 roods 15 perches ; total upset price, £7 13s. 9d. Fronts the Waikato River, about one mile from Mercer Railway-station.

Town of Opua.—Lot 1, Block XXXII. : 17 perches ; upset price, £2 2s. 6d.
