Section 27, Block VI., Mount Cerberus, is situated in the Pahiatua No. II. Block, on the Waihoru Road, and comprises a small amount of fairly good frontage, with very rough and steep slopes, broken by deep gullies and watered by a permanent stream. The soil is fair, on a sandstone and papa formation, and is covered with forest of a mixed character, containing tawa, totara, rata, matai, &c., the undergrowth being very dense, and composed of supplejack, rangiora, &c. The section is distant about nine miles from Pongaroa, five miles being a dray-road and four miles a road which has been surveyed only.
Section 1, Block X., Mount Cerberus, is situated in the Pahiatua No. II. Block, on the Kawakawa Road, and comprises very rough land, which is liable to slip. It is watered by a stream. The soil is fair, on a sandstone formation, and is covered with forest of a mixed character, containing tawa, totara, matai, &c., the undergrowth being composed of dense rangiora, supplejack, &c. The section is distant about eight miles from Pongaroa, five miles being a dray-road and three miles a road which is surveyed only.
Section 4, Block X., Mount Cerberus, is situated in the Pahiatua No. II. Block, on the Kaituna Road, and comprises good spurs and gullies. It is easy of access. The soil is good, on a sandstone formation; well watered by a permanent stream; and covered with forest of a mixed character, containing tawa, totara, rimu, matai, rata, &c., the undergrowth being rangiora, supplejack, &c. The section is distant about eight miles from Pongaroa, five miles being a dray-road and three miles a road which is surveyed only.
Section 10, Block X., is situated in the Pahiatua No. II. Block, on the Kaituna Road, and comprises rough land, with no homestead-site near the road, and steep spurs and gullies at the back. It is watered by a permanent stream. The soil is fair, on a sandstone and papa formation, and is covered with forest of a mixed character, containing tawa, rimu, rata, matai, &c., the undergrowth being supplejack, rangiora, lawyers, &c. The section is distant about eight miles from Pongaroa, five miles being a dray-road and three miles a road which is surveyed only.
Section 19, Block X., Mount Cerberus, is situated in the Pahiatua No. II. Block, on the Akaroa Road, and consists of easy spurs running back into broken country. The soil is good, on a sandstone formation, and is covered with light forest of a mixed character, containing tawa, rimu, hinau, &c., the undergrowth being light, and composed of supplejack, rangiora, &c. The section is distant about five miles from Pongaroa, two miles being a dray-road, two miles a cleared road, and one mile a road which is surveyed only.
Section 22, Block X., Mount Cerberus, is situated in the Pahiatua No. II. Block, on the Akaroa Road, and consists of gentle spurs and gullies. The soil is clayey, and poor on the ridges, but is fair, on a sandstone formation, in the gullies. The land is covered with manuka and a few clumps of tawa, &c. The section is distant about five miles and a half from Pongaroa, two miles being a dray-road, two miles a cleared road, and one mile a road which is surveyed only.
Section 28, Block X., Mount Cerberus, is situated in the Pahiatua No. II. Block, on the Alfredton-Weber Road, and consists chiefly of flat land, watered by permanent streams. The soil is good, on a sandstone and papa formation, and is covered with forest of a mixed character, containing kahikatea, tawa, rimu, rata, matai, &c. The undergrowth is very open, and is composed of rangiora, supplejack, &c. The section is distant about two miles and a half from Pongaroa by a dray-road.

This section is situated in the Pahiatua No. III. Block, on the Kawakawa Road, and consists of land sloping from a leading ridge, the slope being easy along the road-frontage. The soil is good, on a sandstone formation, and covered with forest of a mixed character, containing tawa, totara, rimu, matai, rata, &c., the undergrowth being rangiora, supplejack, &c. The section is distant about thirty-seven miles from Dannevirke—thirty-three miles by dray-road, and four miles by a cleared road.

Section 2, Block I., Mount Cerberus, is situated in the Masterton Reform Block, on the North Range Road, and consists of good easy spurs on the frontage, rising steeply to 2,600 ft. at the back line. The soil is good, on a limestone formation, with permanent water, and is covered with forest of a mixed character, containing tawa, rimu, tawhero, hinau, &c., the undergrowth being dense supplejack, rangiora, mahoe, kotukutuku, &c. The section is distant about nineteen miles and a half from Makuri, five miles being dray-road, eleven miles bridle-track, and three miles and a half pack-track.
Section 1, Block I., Mt. Cerberus, is situated in the Masterton Reform Block, on the North Range Road, and consists of fairly good spurs on the eastern half, rising very steeply to 2,500 ft. at the back line. It is watered by permanent streams. The soil is good, on a papa and limestone formation, and is covered with forest of a mixed character, containing rimu, rata, tawhero, tawa, &c., the undergrowth being dense supplejack, mahoe, kotukutuku, rangiora, &c. The section is about nineteen miles from Makuri, five miles being a dray-road, eleven miles a bridle-track, and three miles a pack-track.
Section 16, Block IV., Mt. Cerberus, is situated in the Masterton Reform Block, on the Cross Road, and consists of easy spurs, nearly flat on the southern half, and rather broken country on the northern half. It is watered by a permanent stream. The soil is fair, on a papa formation, and is covered with manuka, mixed, on the northern portion, with tawa, rimu, rata, kahikatea, &c., the undergrowth being manuka, rangiora, supplejack, &c. The section is distant about fifteen miles from Makuri, five miles being a dray-road, and ten miles a bridle-track.
Section 20, Block IV., Mt. Cerberus, is situated in the Masterton Reform Block, at the junction of the North Range and Cross Roads, and consists of nearly flat land, in low spurs, watered by permanent streams. The soil is good, on a papa formation, and is covered with forest of a mixed character, containing tawa, rimu, rata, matai, &c., the undergrowth being supplejack, rangiora, &c. The section is distant about fifteen miles and a half from Makuri, five miles being dray-road, and ten miles and a half bridle-track.
