Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the tenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

About one-fourth open land and old kauri workings, balance mixed-forest land. Situated about three miles from Mangakahia Post-office.

Undulating to broken clay land, covered with mixed forest and some scattered kauri of no commercial value; land well watered, and suited for pastoral purposes. Situated eight miles from Kaihu Railway-station by dray-road.

Open forest land, rather broken, but of good quality. About four miles from Opotiki. Subject to £25 for bush felled and for fencing.

About 6 acres mixed forest, balance very broken fern land. Situated one mile and a half from Richmond Township.

Open land, mostly wiwi swamp, with patches of good land. About three miles from Taipa and eight miles from Mangonui.

Open undulating land, covered with wiwi and tea-tree scrub. Situated about eight miles from Mangonui by road, and about three miles from Taipa.

Mixed-forest land of good quality, containing some good totara timber. Situated about eight miles from Matakoe.

Open land. Situated about two miles from Te Poro Landing and about seven miles from Waiuku.

Open land. About six miles from Wade.

Broken forest land; soil fair. Situated about five miles from Hikurangi Railway-station.

Open undulating land of fair quality, containing about 12 acres forest. Situated eight miles from Mangapai.

Undulating land, at the Papamoa Special Settlement. Frontage to main coach-road, Tauranga to Te Puke. Subject to £40 for clearing and fencing.
