Rural Lands in Auckland District open for Sale or Selection.

District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, 26th July, 1897.

THE under-mentioned Crown lands will be open for sale or selection, in terms of section 136 of “The Land Act, 1892,” either for cash, for occupation with right of purchase, or for lease in perpetuity, at the option of the selector, on and after Wednesday, the 15th September, 1897.

If more than one application be received for the same section on the same day, then the order of selection shall be decided by ballot on the following day, at 11 a.m.

Land in Cheviot Estate for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.

NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned land will be open for selection on lease in perpetuity, upon the terms and conditions hereunder stated, on and after Wednesday, the 8th September, 1897.

If there be more than one application received for the same land on the same day, then the order of selection will be decided by ballot, at this office, on the following day, at 11 a.m.

This section is situated in the central portion of the Cheviot Estate, on the Hurunui-Homestead Road, about one mile and a half in a south-westerly direction from the Township of Mackenzie, and comprises rich agricultural land in English grass, a portion of the area being low-lying, and liable to flood after heavy rains.

This section is situated about three-quarters of a mile from Port Robinson, and consists of open, broken agricultural and pastoral land, the soil being of a good sandy-loam character, carrying tussock and English grass.

“THE WEST COAST SETTLEMENT RESERVES ACT, 1892.”

NOTICE TO NATIVE OWNERS AND LESSEE OF A MEETING to be held at the Town Hall, WAITOTARA, at 10 o’clock a.m. on THURSDAY, the 30th SEPTEMBER, 1897, to fix the RENT FOR NEW LEASE TO GEORGE HUTCHISON of Sections 301, 302, 308, and 352, OKOTUKU, known as “Ihupuku,” in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing 562 acres (more or less), being Portions of Land comprised in Confirmed Lease Registered No. 45.

TO Te Kepa Heheu, Ria Ngaparuki, Horonuku Apia, Whakama Karihi, Tarewa, Kotuku, Atutahi Pirikahu, Tini Pirikahu, Taroí Pirikahu, Koroneho Pirikahu, Wakarua te Karihi, Ngauru Heni, Te Mere Pounamu, Hipera te Kau, Kahukake, Te Kepa te Keheu, Tainakore, Tamu Rakei, Taruke Wharanga, Te Ari Rakei, Ngakati Wharanga, Terewai, Ripeka Tauri, Harata Taipukore, Whakarua, Poharama Takarangi, Tutae Ropíha, Mere Herepu, Kenana Herepu (trustee, Horonuku Apia), Te Whatikini Whakarua, Rima Whakarua, Irihapeti Raukura, Ihipera Koria, Hipera te Kou, Mere Herepu, Tutae, Mere Pounamu, Mateone, Tutae Taurua, Terewhai, and the other Native owners of all those pieces of land situate in the Provincial District of Wellington, being Sections 301, 302, 308, and 352, Okotuku, known as “Ihupuku,” and containing by admeasurement 562 acres (more or less), being portions of the land comprised in confirmed lease No. 45; and to George Hutchison, of Wellington, Solicitor, assignee.

Whereas the above-named George Hutchison has given notice to me, under the provisions of section 8 of “The West Coast Settlement Reserves Act, 1892,” that he desires to obtain under that section a new lease of the land above described; and I consider his application ought to be given effect to: Now, therefore, I do hereby appoint a meeting to take place between the said George Hutchison and all the Native owners of the above-described land, for the purpose of fixing the rent to be paid for the said land for the first twenty-one years of the new lease; and I fix the Town Hall, Waitotara, as the place where, and Thursday, the 30th day of September, 1897, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, as the time when, such meeting shall take place.
