Notice of Request to amend Specification.

Patent Office,
Wellington, 4th August, 1897.

A REQUEST for leave to amend the specification relating to the under-mentioned application for Letters Patent has been received, and is open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within one month from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the amendments. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon:—

No. 9552.—20th May, 1897.—William Grey Clemoe, of Eltham, River Park, New Zealand, Farmer. An invention for an improved horse-shoe.

The nature of the proposed amendments is as follows, viz.:

  1. To insert the words “or iron” after the word “steel,” line 8, page 1.

  2. To strike out the words “so as to take a screw,” and insert instead the words “and to be of sufficient thickness to allow a thread to be made so as to hold the screw,” line 11, page 1.

  3. To insert the words “these two bottom screw-holes also to contain a thread” after the word “clips,” line 5, page 2.

The applicant states: “My reasons for making this amendment are as follows: The thread in the clips will prevent the screws from coming out. The reason for adding the words ‘or iron’ is to make it optional which to use.”
