THE under-mentioned Crown lands will be open for application under lease in perpetuity, at this office, on Wednesday, the 15th day of September, 1897, under the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892,” and “The Land for Settlements Act, 1894,” and its amendments.

Open, level, and gently-sloping ground, on old alluvial and limestone formation; soil good, wholly agricultural; water within 20 chains, and will probably be obtained by sinking. NOTE.—The successful applicant for this allotment will acquire the adjoining Crown lands, Section 32, Block III., Awamoko District, containing 63 acres 3 roods 22 perches, on lease in perpetuity, at an annual rental of £6 7s. 10d.

NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned green kauri timber, standing upon Sections 6 of Block I. and 79 of Block V., Hukerenui Survey District, in the Bay of Islands County, about two miles from Towai Post-office and eight miles from Kawakawa, will be offered for sale by public auction, at this office, on Friday, the 17th day of September, 1897, at 11 o’clock a.m.:
About 190,000 sup. feet, standing on Section 6, Block I., Hukerenui Survey District. Upset price, £63 6s. 8d.
About 220,000 sup. feet, standing on Section 79, Block V., Hukerenui Survey District. Upset price, £73 6s. 8d.
This timber, if not required for home consumption, is to be conveyed to railway and shipped at Kawakawa or Whakapara.
Conditions of Sale.—One-half the purchase-money to be paid in cash or by marked cheque on the fall of the hammer; the balance within three months. Timber to be removed within one year from date of sale.

NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned kauri timber, standing upon Crown land in Block VIII., Tutamoe Survey District, in the Hokianga County, about five miles from Mangakahia Post-office, and at junction of Takitu and Opouteke Streams, will be offered for sale by public auction, at this office, on Friday, the 17th day of September, 1897, at 11 o’clock a.m.:
77 kauri-trees, containing about 200,000 sup. feet. Upset price, £75.

NOTICE is hereby given, in terms of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” that written tenders for the lease of the under-mentioned land and building will be received at this office up to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the 25th August, 1897:
Part of Reserve No. 81, situated in Balgueri Street, Akaroa. Size of section, 60 links frontage by 150 links deep. Together with two-roomed building, suitable for office or small dwelling-house. Term of lease, five years. Upset rental, £8 per annum.
Tenders must be addressed to the undersigned, and be accompanied by a deposit by bank draft, marked cheque, or post-office order for a half-year’s rent at the rate offered, and a license-fee of £1 1s.
The lease will contain provisions for the payment of the rent half-yearly in advance; for the maintenance of the building by the lessee; for the payment of all rates and taxes by the lessee; for the insurance of the building by the lessee for a sum of £20 in the name of the Queen; together with any other conditions that may be deemed applicable and necessary.
The highest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the lease of the Cheviot woolshed, sheep-yards, sheep-dip and shed, shearers’ quarters, bakery and cookhouse, slaughter-house and outhouse, together with about 162 acres of land surrounding and adjacent thereto, situated close to the Township of Mackenzie, will be received at this office up to noon on Wednesday, 11th August, 1897, subject to the following conditions, and any others that may be deemed necessary:
(1.) Tenders must be accompanied by a deposit by bank draft, marked cheque, post-office order, or cash, for the amount of a half-year’s rent at the rate offered, and must be enclosed
