WHEREAS by an order of the Court made at Otorohanga on the 9th day of December, 1890, it was ordered that the
sum of £60 should be paid to the Native owners of the Pokuru Block as compensation in respect of that portion of
the said block, containing 26 acres 3 roods 24 perches, taken for the Puniu Section of the North Island Main Trunk
Railway, under the provisions of "The Public Works Act, 1882":
And whereas the said block has since been partitioned, and it has been considered expedient that the Court should be
empowered to inquire and determine to whom the said sum of £60 is to be paid, and to make such order as it may deem fit
in relation thereto:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the
power in that behalf vested in him by section 15 of "The Native Land Court Act, 1894," and acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, has, by Order in Council dated the 14th day of June, 1897,
conferred upon the Court jurisdiction, with regard to the said sum of £60, to inquire and determine as aforesaid, and to
make such order in respect thereof as it shall deem necessary or expedient.
Notice is hereby given that the Court sitting at Otorohanga shall proceed to inquire into and determine the said matter
on the 3rd day of August, 1897, or as soon thereafter as the business will allow.
